Cory POV
**********Unfortunately, right after Melanie and Kait made up, the motion sensors went off.
"God dammit!" She yelled, running downstairs to look on the security cameras for any people in the yard.
What she saw was Dave lurking around the side of the house away from the windows.
"Blackout curtains! Closed! Now!" She yelled.
Everyone rushed around closing the curtains as fast as possible. Right as we got the last one closed, the motion sensor by the back windows went off. When she checked the cameras, what did she see? No other than a lunatic ex husband wondering why he could no longer peer inside. Naturally, she wanted to pick on him, so she decided to turn the sprinklers on full blast. Thank god he was standing right above one. Somehow, she managed to have it set at just the right angle so that it went off right into his crotch, and boy did it look like it hurt. He doubled over in pain when the first jet hit it. It was amusing to watch, but at the same time, being a guy, it was painful to watch. Kait certainly had a way of showing it if she didn't deem you as welcome on her property. I just hoped that I wouldn't screw up that badly as to be deemed unwelcome simply because I knew what she would do to me. I've seen her in action, and as sexy as it was, I always secretly hoped that she'd never unleash any of her tacts on me. Unfortunately, I had to be careful about how I mentioned certain topics around her to prevent that, thanks to that bozo she married.
Sex was one of those topics. I messed up once and she gave me such a slap on the arm that it left a bruise for days. Some days I wonder about all the things he did to her. She refused to talk about it. I guess he was one to talk dirty a lot, so I don't blame her for freaking out that night I mentioned sex in an unusual way. Kait seemed a little timid at times, though. It was almost like she was scared of a major commitment such as marriage. She hesitated when I asked her to marry me, anything about sex made her turn into a nervous wreck, and she had issues trusting anyone but Melanie. It worried me, it honesty did and I was scared that she'd back out of marrying me. I knew she was the one to spend the rest of my life with, but I didn't think that she thought the same about me. Every time I'd look at her, my pulse would race, and I'd smile like a total idiot. My parents always told me that when I found "the one" I'd just know. I guess that's how you just know. It's the one person that you still look forward to seeing after you get home from work, the person that makes life seem better than the best dream you've ever had, the person that drives you completely crazy, but you still couldn't imagine life without them, that one person that is your best friend and your lover all wrapped into one person. Whenever I saw quotes like that, the one person I could ever think about was Kait. She was the first person I thought about in the morning, and the last person I thought about before I went to sleep at night. She was my world, my everything. To me, even her flaws were complete perfection, and there were very few of those.
