Kait POV

*********

"Rosa, you've been acting strange lately." Melanie said.

"What do you mean?" I asked, confused.

"You've been blocking me from your thoughts, sitting alone in the basement with the lights off, and mumbling 'not too much longer now' to yourself just to name a few things." She answered.

"I was trying to see if I blocked you from entering my head if the madness would stop leaking into me." I said, creating an excuse, which she bought.

"I hope it works because I want the old Rosa back."

Little did she know, she wasn't going to get the old Rosa back. I already had everything planned out too far to get rid of it now. The pain that Spirit caused was far too strong for me to consider any other option. While I was down in the basement with the lights off, I was designing a robe-like outfit that allowed no sunlight to touch anywhere. I waited until the very last day of the school year, the teacher inservice for grading exams. In all my hell-bound glory, I pulled the one staff member that I hated most into the staff restroom, the one place in the school with no sunlight, and sank my teeth into her neck. The rush that the experience gave me was like no other, it was the ultimate high. Watching the life drain out of someone else and feel it empower you was beyond compare. I quickly pulled on my robes, knowing that no one could recognize me. I went to leave my keys on Melanie's desk, big mistake. She was in her room, demanding to know who I was, not recognizing me in the robes.

"You aren't supposed to be here! Who are you?!" She yelled.

All I did was reach out a gloved hand and place my keys on her computer keyboard.

"Rosa's keys..." she pondered.

"Goodbye." I said, hearing my voice for the first time since I Awakened myself. It was cold and evil sounding, and I enjoyed that.

"Rosa? Is that you?" she asked, I turned my head away.

"Come with me." she said, pulling me toward the staff restroom, where she found the body of Alice Steel, the person who's blood I drained. She then screamed and I ran.

I didn't need to know what happened next. I didn't care what happened next. My first stop was my old place of work before my life went down in flames. I had one soul purpose there. I waited in my robes until the sun went down then changed into a leather jacket, black skinny jeans, and black leather stiletto boots. If I could've, I would've thought it was sexy. I found the one person I was hoping to find as he was just ending his shift.

"Who's there?!" he called out, hearing my boots hitting the pavement.

I cornered him under a street lamp so he could see me.

"Babe, er, Kait, sorry. You look hot! What're you here for? Why are your eyes blood red? Why is your skin pasty? Why do you have fangs?" he said, panicking.

"I have one reason to be here. You fucked up, Fergeuson. Now you're gonna pay." I said.

"Shouldn't Melanie be coming to calm you down soon?" Dave said, getting nervous.

"It's a little late for her. She's too busy mourning over the unfortunate death of her bitch friend Steel." I spat.

"Wait, you- you're--" he said, now terrified realizing just what was happening.

"Goodbye." I said, biting into his neck, getting that same intense high I felt when I killed Alice.

"Ex-husband problem? Solved." I said, running away from the state park.
