Kait POV

**********

I didn't drive the trip to Pennsylvania. It was deemed that I wasn't mentally stable enough to drive at all. Everyone was scared that I'd start seeing the "little black fuckers" again and crash the car into a pole or something. This infuriated me, but I understood why this decision was made. Naturally, Rose wanted to come along, seeing as she was always looking for a chance to see Queen Dragomir, who also happened to be her best friend. As usual, she begged to drive, but there was no was I was trusting her with my truck.

"Kait, can I drive?" Rose asked.

"Absolutely not." I stated.

"Aw, come on! Why not?" she begged.

"Because for one, you're lucky you're coming, so don't push your luck, and two, this truck has way too much power for you." I explained.

"Damn. At least I get the back seat to myself." She said climbing into the back seat.

"Rosa, where are your keys?" Melanie asked.

"Crap! They're in my purse!" I said, grabbing them from the very bottom.

"I hope that seeing the queen will shed some light on all of this." Melanie's mentioned.

"Have either of you thought of asking me? After all, I was bonded to her for years." Rose added.

"Have you... have you ever gotten a migraine and seen, how do I put it, ghosts and black specks?" I asked.

"Oh shit, that's what happened, wasn't it? You're starting to see them" she said. "But that doesn't make sense. Melanie is Shadow Kissed, not you. She should be seeing the ghosts."

"We're both spirit users, Rose. I know it sounds strange, but we're both Shadow Kissed as well. I can see into her head and she can see into mine." Melanie added.

"That doesn't make any sense. I hope Lissa will be able to figure something out about this. You might be of help in her quest to learn more about Spirit." Rose said.

"How it works for sucking up Spirit's darkness, I have no idea. I guess we both take the madness from each other and it never truly leaves. It just builds and builds inside of each of us until one of us explodes like what happened earlier." I said.

"That's why you might be of help to Lissa." Rose mentioned.

When we got into the Royal Court, Melanie and I were pretty much worshiped. Everyone knew us. They treated us like goddesses just because we were Viu.

"Oh my god! Oh my god! You're, you're, you're Melanie Lions and Kait Welling! You're actually here! In Court! Can I get a picture with you two?" A girl said when she saw us walking to the Royal guest housing.

"Of course, honey! Come here! Rose, take the picture." Melanie said, putting an arm around her shoulder, posing.

"Thank you so much! You have no idea how much this means to me! You two are so awesome!" she said, running off somewhere.

"Well, that was interesting." I mumbled.

"Just keep an open mind, Rosa. We're celebrities around here. We're two out of the maybe ten of our kind, who are considered gods around here. People are going to want pictures." She explained.

"Hence why I tend to avoid this place." I mumbled, walking into the room Melanie and I were sharing.

"Rosa" Melanie said sighing and shaking her head.

"And one bed. Perfect." I said, shoving my suitcase on the couch.

"Oh, come on, Rosa. Give it a chance. I figured we could have a girls weekend. We could go shopping, watch a few movies, stay up all night, you get the point." She said.
