The Differences

Part One: Chapter Seven

"We'll keep Sai by our side. If the location changes, Sai will be sure to notice" said Calypso. Raelynn nodded and threw on her soft black hoodie. She stepped into the bathroom and gently fastened a part of her dark pink fluffy hair into a pony tail. "You're going out in that?" asked Raelynn, analyzing Calypso's outfit. She was wearing a black sweater which had the sleeves rolled up to her elbows. She was also wearing a dark red skirt and black see through leggings.

"I don't need to wear anything special. It's not cold outside" said Calypso. Raelynn pointed to the window. Calypso looked out the window to notice it was snowing.

"Crap...Maeko. She must've used her powers. I swear, if Zero put his hands on her..." said Calypso. She turned her head towards Raelynn. "We need to leave right now. Where is Onyx?!"

Onyx walked into the room drying his dark black hair. He was wearing a black shirt and sweatpants. "We're leaving Onyx. Get your shoes on" said Calypso. "Ahh, yeah" said Onyx. Raelynn stared at Calypso. "He just...listens to you like that?" asked Raelynn. Calypso sighed and looked away as if she was trying to forget something. "I'll explain in the car" she said. "Oh, okay..." Raelynn replied.

"You have your coat?" asked Zero. 

"No, I'll go get one" replied Maeko, beginning to walk down the hallway. Zero stopped her.

"I'll go get it, don't worry. If you faint, I wouldn't be able to find you" said Zero.

"Okay" said Maeko. Zero shortly returned with a long black coat.

"You seriously need a coat though? Like, you shouldn't be affected by the cold..."

"I still can't control my powers, so I'm still extremely sensitive to the cold. Zero nodded.

"Okay. Let's leave...once you faint, I'll be sure to ensure you're safe" said Zero. 

Maeko smiled and the two proceeded to leave the mansion.

"They moved" said Sai. Calypso gritted her teeth. "Dammit. We need to get there faster" said Calypso. Raelynn nodded. "Hey, Calypso...What's the relationship between you and Onyx?" asked Raelynn.

"I saved him. He almost died a couple years ago. I found him bleeding out to death, and I sacrificed a part of myself to save him" said Calypso.

"A part of yourself?" asked Raelynn.

"Yeah. I wasn't born half werewolf and half demon. I was born half werewolf and half human. When a vampire sucks your blood, the human cells in you become permanent. Those cells can't be destroyed, and they can't be restocked due to a venom that a vampire puts in you when they suck your blood. I knew this, but I let Onyx suck my blood to live"

"Then how did you become half demon?"

"I later decided to sacrifice my humanity to become a portion of demon. The venom is very difficult to extract from your blood, but it's possible. You have to take medication from a needle that attacks the venom, but it also attacks contaminated human cells. So if you run out of human cells before all of the venom is extracted, you die"

"And you decided to do that because-"

"Yeah. It's horribly painful. It feels like you are being impaled all over your body. However, that wasn't the worst part. Afterwards, I finally was able to become a demon since my cells were replenished and healthy. But it took a ton of stabilization. After 6 months passed, I was eligible to become half demon. So I experimented with the occult, and met a demon who could change me. She said she could do it, but it will be a horrible choice. When you're not born a demon and you become one, your body doesn't have the correct structure to hold a demonic presence. So I experienced side effects such as nightmares, psychotic tendencies, maximized emotions, and P. T. S. D. of things that only happened in dreams. Sometimes, my nightmares predict the future" explained Calypso.

Raelynn looked at Calypso with widened eyes. "I'm sorry...I was so rude to you, but I didn't know you were going through all that" said Raelynn.

"You're so dumb" said Calypso.

"How?" asked Raelynn.

"Look at yourself. You're feeling bad for me when this all happened in my own control. I didn't have to make the decisions I did. They were my decisions, you don't have any reason to feel bad for me, idiot. I've done more bad than I've done good" said Calypso.

"Stop here" Sai said. Onyx stopped the car. Sai jumped out of the car. "Follow me" he said quietly. "Are we here or something?" asked Raelynn. "Yeah" said Onyx. The four hopped out of the car and began walking into the forest. "The snow stopped. Maeko must be fainted by now. Zero can't get to Maeko before I do..." said Calypso. "There they are!" shouted Raelynn, pointing to Zero who was carrying a fainted Maeko through the forest. Zero noticed them, and attempted to run. "Not so fast" said Sai. Sai appeared before Zero. "Move you stupid ghost" said Zero, attempting to walk through Sai. "I'm half" said Sai. Onyx sprinted over and kicked Zero in the chin.

"Ow, that hurt" said Zero. "It was supposed to" said Onyx, glaring down at Zero. "I'm only trying to help Maeko...why are you all against me?" asked Zero. "You're not trying to help her" said Calypso, walking over slowly. Maeko slowly opened her eyes and sat up. "Maeko, are you okay?!" Calypso said, rushing over to her and putting her hands on Maeko's shoulders. "EVIL! YOU'RE ONE OF THOSE DEMON PEOPLE WHO ARE TRYING TO KILL ME! ZERO, PROTECT ME" screamed Maeko, scooting backwards. "Maeko, trust us! We're good people...remember me, Raelynn? I used to side with Zero...but Calypso told me what has happened. It's a trap Maeko, Zero is trying to kill you" said Raelynn.
