I sat on the couch in silence. I had never been in a more aggravating situation before in my life. We all knew how bad it was for him to be overdoesed but we couldnt get help. That was too risky. Tyler tried to assure me it was fine, seeing Ricky only took one extra pill it shouldnt be that bad but we should just watch out for him.
After awhile I got tired of the silence and finally said, "Why are you guys here anyways?" both of the guys looked over at me.
"What do you mean?" Alex asked.
I shrugged. "It could be anybody here or no one. Why you two?" It was silent again for awhile. I stared at both of them and after a minute I got an answer.
"We're his friends. He just told us about it and we agreed to help." Tyler said casually.
I had a very hard time believing that. "He just came out and told you? And you agreed to help?" It was silent again.
After a moment Tyler said, "Well we just figured something was up and did a little investigating and found out ourselves."
I furrowed my brow and glared. "But you agreed to it?"
"No." I glanced at Alex now. "Not until we heard you would be involved. I may not have really known you but I couldnt just let you be hurt." I made note he eventually changed to saying I instead of we.
"So you did this for me?" I asked and Alex nodded. I gave a soft smile.
The rest of my weekend went by extremely fast. So did the week. Kenzie still didn't get this whole thing, of why I'm suddenly never available anymore over the weekends. She just said, "You had better not be busy this weekend!" When I only gave her a sheepish grin she just turned away angrily. I had to do something, I couldn't ignore her constantly. I would spend my after school time with her then.
Wednesday night came, and I planned this to be my time to head out to the east side again. My alarm was set and I took a little nap until midnight. When the alarm went off I got out of bed, and slipped to the window. Climbing onto the low porch top I walked to the edge and slipped onto the railing then the ground. Rounding the corner, I heard the back screen slam. Shit! I started walking faster and as soon as I was across the street, planned to run. "Hey! Where are you going?" I didn't wait then. I took off, darting across the pavement and down the grassy side of the road. I kept on running till My house was out of sight. I stopped for a minute and hid behind a tree. This is no good. I have to get out of here fast, before they find me. I thought and then started running again. When I reached the end of town, I took a detour around a different road which had many twists and turns out into open country. I slid on the ground and landed with a thud. I didn't bother getting up and laid in the grass, catching my breath, my heart pounding.
Glancing at my phone I saw it was 12:42. After my breathing settled to normal pace again I clambered back to my feet and walked slowly down the road. After a little bit longer, I could see dim lights from the city, and I made my way to the shady east side. The familiar path I walked only a week ago, was once again dark an icolated. Only a few blocks away from the alley, I heard the soft rumble of a car engine. Quickly turning my head, I started to get frantic looking at the black car coming up behind me. It stopped beside but when I saw who was inside, I let out a sigh of relief. Alex and Tyler had came to watch over me.
I kept going then and reached the alley. The 19 year old guy from before was there waiting for me. "Your late my dear." He said cooly. I shrugged.
"Ran into some complications." I said and pulled out the money. He took the money from and tossed me the bag. I glanced down at everything inside it and felt sick. This was so wrong.
