Here is the next chapter. Sorry it's short. Let me know what you think! Writing WODS now, don't worry. Oh btw if breifly goes into Tyler's POV but this will be the only time. I couldn't avoid it, sorry.
As tired as I must have been, I didn't sleep very well that night. I tossed and turned in my sleep, occasionally hearing an annoyed groan from Alex, considering I had fallen asleep on him on the couch. Despite my tiredness, I ended up waking early. I left Alex to sleep, having kept him up all night. I walked into the kitchen, looking for something to eat, but I honestly wasn't all that hungry. How could I eat when my friend was in the hospital, probably dying.
I plumped down into a chair, and burrowed my head in my arms on the table. I stayed like that for awhile, not really sure if I fell asleep, but I remember hearing my stomach rumble really loudly. "Aren't you going to eat anything? Your stomach is loud!" I picked up my head and looked at Alex, and couldn't help bursting out laughing. "What?" I just shook my head.
"Did I wake you up?" I asked, standing up and shuffling across the kitchen.
"Your stomach did. Don't you feed that thing?" I laughed again.
"I am now." Apparently, whether I wanted to or not, I had to eat before my stomach drove Alex insane. I guess I was more hungry than I had thought. We kinda just ate in silence, and when we were done, we just sat around.
"This is really boring." Alex finally said. "We can't just sit here and wait around."
I looked over at him from where I was perched on the chair. "Then what are we suppose to do?"
"Something. Anything!" I realized he had an extremely short attention span. I sighed. The only thing we managed to accomplish was going outside and sitting. It didn't help any and I could tell Alex was getting fairly agitated. "I'm going to snap." He said eventually. I sighed. I think that's what really made him snap. But he didn't do anything. He just got up and went back inside. I stayed outside, staring at the grass. It was wonderful fun. Note the sarcasm there.
It seemed like it had been years when we finally heard word from Tyler. He didn't have much to say, only that he had no clue when he would be back. I groaned, and then I really thought Alex was going to lose it.
Tyler POV
"Are you sure you don't know what could have happened with him?" The nurse asked for about the millionth time. Of course I probably know what did happen, but that's not like I could tell her that.
"I'm positive. I have no idea. He just came over my place and was like this." I explained. I'm a horrible liar.
"Why didn't you inform your parents?" She asked.
"They weren't home."
"What about his parents?" She asked.
"No way of contacting them."
"We will eventually have to find a way to contact them." The nurse said and I tried my best to hide my fearful expression.
"Must you really? It's not serious is it? I can just return him home and say he got sick. We stopped at the ER, but it wasn't serious." I shrugged.
"But I'm afraid it might be." The nurse said softly. Uh oh. That was not good at all. Crap. This can't happen. I don't want to go to juvi! "Please just wait in the waiting room while we do some tests." The nurse guided me away.
It felt like forever that I was waiting. I was panicking, probably going to start hyperventilating as well. When I almost thought I would lose it, the nurse came out. "It seems he is overdosed." Well no shit, I could've told you that one. "We're not exactly happy about the types of drugs he is overdosed with though." She was acting suspicious.
"What do you mean?" I said coolly. Gotta pretend I have no clue what she means.
"Not prescription drugs. Illegal ones." She glanced at me warily.
"No way. He couldn't have. There is no way he could." I tried to push the idea away.
"This is no way he could have got a hold of these kind of drugs?" She asked.
"No way. I'm positive." I could tell she wasn't believing me.
"Well we are going to try to contact his parents." The nurse was walking off before I could protest. Damn. This was so not good.
I waited another very long time before the nurse returned again. "We haven't been able to make contact with his parents. Though he is in a more stable state."
"Okay. Can I take him home now." The nurse looked wary. I don't think it was allowed to let a minor release someone from a hospital. But finally she agreed to it, saying she would keep trying to get a hold of his parents. I would worry about that later. Right now, we just had to get out of there.
Lexi's POV
I let out a loud sigh for the millionth time that evening. It was going to be dark soon, getting late and still no word from Tyler. Alex gave up on me awhile later and had kept us separated, with me in one room and him in another.
I nearly jumped out of my skin when he came bounding in saying Tyler called and that they were on their way back. We waited anxiously till they arrived and I thought I was gunna explode when they did. I just wanted to stay with Ricky and hug him like crazy, but he was still a bit weak and exhausted so he went to bed. Tyler explained to us everything that happened, and I instantly felt sick again. "So you think they know something?"
"Of course they do! The nurse plain out told me that!" Tyler yelled. I winced.
"We're going to be in so much trouble." Alex muttered softly.
"It won't be long until the police come and find us, then we're all screwed. We might as well turn ourselves in." Tyler said dejectedly.
"We can't do that. What if no one does anything? Why put ourselves in trouble if we are safe?" Alex argued.
"Then what? Set us up for more trouble then bust us huh?" I sat there letting them bicker, ignoring it all. I felt fearful. I normally got into trouble often, it was nothing new to me at all. But this was, this was just beyond what I had ever done before in my life. I would never live it down.
After a few minutes I suddenly said, "I'm going to bed." Without waiting for a response, I got up and darted to the hall. I was stopped halfway to my bedroom.
"Are you okay?" Alex whispered. I shook my head. "Are you afraid?" I nodded so hard I thought my head would fly off. I felt so sick with fear. Alex just hugged me tightly. "It will be okay. We'll be okay, don't worry." He said, trying to comfort me, but I knew he didn't even believe that.
