She got home and smiled as she saw a small bottle of his favourite aftershave and a jumper of his that she often wore back home. She slipped the jumper over her head and grabbed the folded piece of paper as she curled up under the blanket on her sofa,

"I will miss the feel of your hair between my fingers and the way your lips feel so soft against mine. I will miss the feel of your teeth against my ear and shoulder and the feel of your bare skin. I shall miss your laugh, and the way your speak about your day. I will miss the noises you make as I kiss your neck and the way you say my name as we have sex. Sleeping and showering and watching bad films won't be the same without you wrapped around me. I love you Connie. I love your fire and your passion and your soul. I have never and will never love anybody more. I can't wait for you to come home. I'm never letting you go again.

I have this picture by my beside, I think you look so at peace with the world. That and love is all I want for you. Yours always, Jacob."

"The man has a way with words," she uttered, smiling as she looked at the picture he'd left her. She lay asleep on his sofa with her arms around Dotty who also slept soundly. The cover was wrapped around her up to her waist and she wore the jumper he'd left her. Out of all the pictures he likes this one, she thought, a smile on her face.

"Go and pick her up," Charlie smiled, "she'll be happy to see you after the long plane journey."

"Hi sweetcheeks," he smiled, kissing her neck as he watched her stir the coffee she'd just bought. She placed the lid on the coffee and turned to him slipping her arms around his neck and kissing him gently.

"What are you doing here?"

"Charlie let me go early," he kissed her forehead, "even after long flight you look beautiful," he smiled.

It didn't take her long to fall asleep in the car and he scooped her gently into his arms as they arrived at hers, carrying her and settling her down on the sofa. He let Dotty in, and smiled as the dog climbed carefully onto the sofa and snuggled down beside her. Connie wrapped her arm around the dog and he took a picture of them, before kissing Connie's head as he headed into the kitchen to make some dinner. She woke an hour later and smiled, "nice to see you Dot," she smiled, placing a kiss on the dogs head and climbing over her.

She slipped her arms around Jacobs waist, smiling as he turned off the food and turned so he could cuddle her gently.

"I've been waiting weeks to hold you like this," he whispered and he kissed her mouth.

"Let's eat and you can head upstairs to get a proper nights sleep," he told her.

They lay closely in bed that night. She hadn't had the energy to have sex, and she was surprised when he told her that it didn't matter. Their almost naked bodies cuddled into each other closely and she found she was drifting off to sleep quicker than she would have liked,

"Sorry," she smiled, "I'm exhausted,"

"You sleep now... Welcome home sweet cheeks,"

He woke to find her not in the bed beside him and smiled as she ran up the stairs Dotty close behind her with her lead in her mouth.

"You want to come for a walk with us?" She asked and he nodded, laughing at how Dotty stood wagging her tail.

"We've got our girl back Dot," he smiled, pulling on his clothes and grabbing his coat,

"She for one is very happy to see you."

"She's hardly left my side," Connie smiled, "I've missed her almost as much as I've missed you."

She slipped her hand into his as Dotty ran ahead of them, still in sight.

"This is one of the things I missed the most whilst I was away," she admitted and he kissed her temple,

"My divorce came through last week," she smiled, squeezing his hand, "I'm a free woman,"

He raised his eyebrow, "not that free I hope."

She tiptoed up and kissed him, "no... Not free at all," she smiled, "all I want is you."
