Hey guys! Thanks so much for reading! I'm sooooooo happy right now because I actually have more than one person who read this!!!!! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!
Sorry about that. On with the story.
Oh before I go, please comment I love to hear what you have to say! Thanks and enjoy!

Lucy's POV

I can't believe it. My dad is actually gone. London, too by the looks of things. There's no way I could even try to fly there to rescue him, I had nowhere near that kind of money.

When I saw the note, I immediately got out of the house as fast as I could. Mia's house was closest, and that was where I would always go if there was an emergency. But I felt even worse when I found out that her dad was missing too.

"Mine too," she said, looking straight into my eyes, obviously disguising her actual feelings. I could sense fear, sadness, and a whole lot of anger behind that mask of calmness.

I couldn't believe how well she was taking this. I broke down like a two year old when I found out my dad was gone. But she was being strong for me, which made me feel even worse than I already did.

I am about to say something, maybe words of comfort or encouragement to her, but I hear footsteps coming near to us, and I see May, the Rosewood's maid, approaching us, a rare scowl evident on her face.

"Should've known," she said. "Empousi. Of course. Should've killed her when I had the chance."

She was obviously very upset with herself.

May looks up at us, as if remembering her job.

She sighs. "I suppose I should probably introduce myself," she begins. "And explain everything, too."

I give a weak sniffle and Mia furrows her brow. We both know you already, a voice in my head says. No need to introduce yourself. But please, do explain.

"I am May," Noo, the voice says, I thought you were April. "Daughter of Hades," she finishes.
Ok I just want to explain why May is so old and a child of the Big Three. So when she was younger, Hades convinced Hecate to cover her with the Mist, so monsters didn't attack her and the other gods wouldn't find out that he had broken the oath that they swore after WW2. After the war with Gaea, she made her way to Camp Half Blood, and now helps protect demigods along with some of the satyrs.

I almost burst out laughing, despite the situation, and I look at Mia, and she seems to be trying to hold in laughter, too.

Finally I can't take it anymore, and we both burst out laughing.

May frowns at us. "Laugh all you want, but you're both daughters of a goddess."

We stop giggling and look at each other.

"So, like, you're saying that we're, like, half god?" Mia asks carefully.

May nods.

"And that they actually exist? Not just myths?"

May nods again, waiting for more of a reaction. I glance at Mia again.

I sigh. "Well I hate to say it, but this all sounds kinda true. Lots of weird things make since now."

Mia gives an exasperated sigh. "I can't believe that you're actually falling for this. It's obviously all a joke," she says, shooting May a dirty look.

May has the guts to glare back. "I'll explain more later. We need to go. Now. Before more come."

"More what?" Mia asks, but I think she already knows.

"Monsters, of course. Now c'mon. Argus is waiting. I Iris Messaged him ASAP when I realized the empousi was here." May starts out the door.

Mia has the most appalled look on her face.

"Well," I say, "why not? This does explain lots. Like how we never knew our moms," I say, trying to convince her to come.

"Of course," she says, shaking herself out of her trance. "Let's go."

We follow May out the door.  A van is waiting for us that says something about strawberries, but my dyslexia is acting up again, so I don't bother deciphering it. Mia and I hop in the back, with May in the front, and someone who I assume is Argus in the driver's seat. He has a scarf and long coat on, which is weird. It's autumn, so it's not that cold. But when he places his hands on the wheel, I notice something strange.

Eyes?? I think On his hands??? I must be hallucinating, I decide, but it's very apparent that there are eyes on his hands. One of them winked at me, making me gasp. A chuckle escapes from May.

"Oh, I forgot, this is Argus," she says, grinning back at me. "The head of security. He'll keep an eye on things for us," she finishes with a wink.

I really should be more worried about these eyes on his hands, and perhaps all over his body, but instead I ask, "Head of security for what?"

May glances at me through the mirror. "Camp Half Blood, of course."

"So that's where we're going? Why?"

"I would've thought you would've figured that out by now," she says, now turning around to look at me with her intense dark eyes.

I didn't want to admit it, but I was pretty sure she was talking about kids who were half god, like her. My dad had hinted at things like this, and I had seen some pretty strange things (one of which being a farting weasel. Don't ask.) which could relate to being a half blood.

"For half gods," I say. "Camp Half Blood if for half gods."

May nods. "Finally. The proper term is demigod, and we'll be heading there very shortly. You will train and prepare to fight monsters and stuff."

Fun. Wonder what the stuff is. "Where are we going then first? You said very shortly."

"We just need to make one last stop," she replies, not meeting my eyes.

I notice that we are in the part of Manhattan that Clara lives. Oh no not her too...

"We have to pick up Clara," I say.

I'm sure May is quite done with me by now, but she gives an exasperated sigh and nods her head.

We are just about to turn to go deeper into the city when I hear a deafening roar and the van shakes. May's eyes grow wide. A massive shape jumps in front of us and Argus swerves to avoid it. Mia and I scream as the van tilts to the left and the world goes dark as my head slams into window and the van is plowed over by the monster.

MUAHHAHAHAHAHAHA!! Cliffhanger!! Sorry for the late update, started reading Magnus Chase! More like Swagnus Chase, but whatever. I'll try to update more often and get a better cover, cuz let's face it- this one sucks. I tried using the Wattpad covers app, but it wasn't really working.

So please comment, I love reading them and replying to them.

Thanks!!!!
