important A/N at the end, please read it. Much love x

The eery silence and tension between the two of them walking at 12:08am was growing with each step they took. Neither wanted to talk, for the fear of screwing things up even more petrified the two equally. Nichola hadn't planned that Jack would actually comply, she didn't expect him to follow her across the country back to her hometown.

When Nichola and Jack had gotten more serious, Anne-Marie and Leo Astherbe moved back to California (the Astherbe's hometown). Now that Nichola and Jack had broken up, and her bank being broke due to the small income at a petite cafe in the outskirts of Conneticut.

"Will you just wait up?!" Jack screamed in frustration, pulling on the sleeve of her sweater. Her reflexes kicked in, immediately swinging around and slapping him on his cheek. He stood stunned; not once in their entire relationship had she done that. Not even after the incident had she slapped him. Due to the fact that she had found out a mere hour ago, he hadn't expected to be forgiven.

"Nichola, I-I just.. Damn it! Why can't we just go back to the good times?! Why can't you forgive me?!" He knew that what he was saying was useless, he was just so damn frustrated to comprehend or put words into cohesive sentences.

"Why are you fucking asking me that shit. You already know the answers. After all, you- you lying, annoying, shit faced bastard! You perfectly know why the hell I can't forgive you." She bellowed, kicking a tin can against a gutter.

The clattering of the metal against metal made Jack cringe. His heart remained sunken into his abdomen, and his head was swirling. He knew what he was in for, and he was willing to physically walk across the country to the Astherbe estate. Jack if you knew, had not been one for exercise, though being fit.

He never believed he was fit or attractive, but Nichola Astherbe had managed to help him overcome his anxiety and such. She had been his light, and now, no pun intended, they were both in the dark.

As the two continued on the abandoned roads of Connecticut, it was obvious that the two were growing tired. As their eyelids started the droop at the measly needled time of 4:02 AM. They were just reaching the edge of the state, Jack took it upon himself to find them a place to rest.

After a few minutes of searching for a place to rest, he soon realized that the nearest place was a children's play structure in a deserted park. He walked back to where he had left his dearest Nichola, seeing her passed out sitting on the curb, her head buried in her sweater. He smiled slightly at the sleeping figure that is the love of his life, before awkwardly shuffling on his feet.

He didn't know what to do. Normally, he'd pick her up and set her down on her bed, before kissing her head, and tuck her in. He didn't know what condition the two were in. She hadn't exactly broken up with him, nor did she confirm at the two were solid in the slightest.

He walked over to her unconscious body, crouching down to her level. He studied her carefully, before awkwardly poking her shoulder gently. She stirred but to no avail, she didn't wake up. Her head rolled to the side, revealing her relaxed sleeping face. He poked her cheek this time around, adding a tad more pressure than before.

She shot up, suddenly conscious, glaring at the crouched boy, who had by now fallen backwards in shock.

"What the hell do you think you're doing?" She seethed, glaring him down and standing herself up. She dusted off her arse, getting rid of the dust and dirt from the New York streets.

She started to walk into the distance but quickly remembering that infact she did not know where the hell she was going, and only Jack knew the way to said abandoned play structure.

"C'mon." She shouted at the boy, fixing her shirt.

Oh my, Nichola Astherbe, you don't know what you've gotten yourself into.
