|Rosemary POV|

"Honey? Wake up." My mom's voice woke me up. "We're home."

I took off my seat belt while my mom picked up my purse and backpack. My mom and I went into the house and my step-dad greeted my mom with a kiss and me with a hug, and then I went upstairs to my room. I heard my step-dad ask my mom what had happened, but I didn't care to listen. I was too tired.

I put my backpack on the floor next to my dresser and my purse on the desk next to my bed. I took off my shoes and blue jeans and put some plaid pajama bottoms on. I took my hair out of the messy bun and braided it into one long brunette braid. I finally laid down on my bed and got comfy. I drifted off to sleep in no time.

I heard the garage door open, I guessed that my step brother, Ash was home. Since I couldn't go back to sleep, i decided to get ready for my friends to come over. I took my braid out and let my hair fall down my back. I didn't bother to change out of my pajamas because they were my friends.

I went down stairs, trying not to slip with my fuzzy socks on, and started to help my mom in the kitchen.

"Hey honey. How you feelin'?"

"I'm okay, but my head really hurts." I touched the bandage on my head that the nurse gave me. "But I'll just take some medicine and I'm sure it'll be gone."

"Okay, if you get dizzy, you can go sit down and I'll get you some water," She said as she started to cut up some carrots.

Ash came in and sat on one of the stools in front of the counter. "Hey what happened?" He said after he saw my bandage. "People were wondering where you went."

"Oh yeah..., I don't really even know what happened. Mason and Shelby said that I slipped and I hit my head really hard on a water fountain."

"Ouch! I'm so sorry."

"Haha it's okay."

***DING-DONG***

"I'll get it!" Ash said, already at the door.

Mason walked in and shook Ash's hand and my mom's. "How do you do?" He said to all of us.

"We are great, well, except what happened today." My mom smiled looked at me.

"Does it still hurt?"

"Yeah," I said opening the fridge door. "But i'll live." I got out some things for a salad.

"Do you need any help, ma'am?" Mason said, while taking off his jacket.

"No, I'm okay you can turn on the T.V. and find something too watch. I'm almost done." She looked at me. "How about you show him how to use the remote, Rosemary? And Ash can you help me?"

I went into the T.V. room with Mason and helped him put in a show. He said that he hasn't watched T.V. in a long time. He said that they did not have a lot of money growing up and they couldn't afford to buy one.

"Oh, well, you aren't really missing anything. There is a lot of garbage nowadays. It used to be like cartoons, but now the cartoons are crap and on the news, all they talk about is politics."

We heard a knock and a few seconds later, Shelby came in with a cute little pink bear.

"I brought you this, because I felt so bad. How are you doing?"

"Oh thank you!" I touched the material. It was so SOFT! "I'm doing okay, thank you. Come! Sit!" I patted the seat next to me.

She came and sat. I was so happy that they were here. I love them both so dearly.

It came around time for dinner and Ash and I set the table with plates, cups, and silverware while Shelby and Mason helped bring food to the table. When everything was ready, we sat down and ate.

This whole time, my head was throbbing with pain, but I really wanted to eat and be with my friends and family.

"In our house, we pray and bless the food. Ash, can you say it?" Mom looked over at him.

"Sure." He bowed his head. "Dear Father, please bless this food to make our bodies healthy and strong. Please help Rosemary feel better quickly. Thank you for giving her amazing friends. Amen."

"Amen."

We ate our dinner and we sat around just talking and it was time for everyone to go. Mom and Ash were cleaning up the kitchen, and I walked Shelby and Mason out to their cars.

Mason and I said goodbye to Shelby and she drove off. She had to get home super quick because she had stayed out later than she thought. He turned to me after she left and said, "Thank you for letting us come over. The food was really yummy and it was nice meeting your mom."

"Yeah, I'm glad she didn't embarrass me like she usually does, and you're welcome." I smiled.

He grinned in response, then his face changed to a more concerned look. "Are you sure that you're going to be okay?"

"Yes," I looked at the trees in the distance, which were only visible because of the light from the headlights of cars passing by. "I think I'll live."

He chuckled. "Is there anything else you need?" I looked at him and thought for a bit. "Yeah, actually," he tilted his head a bit and I turned to face him all the way. "I need a hug."
