Chapter 5.

It's been a week since that race. In that week I've been spending hours racing in the abandoned track and studying efficient ways to win a bloody street race. Christina calls me insane. Will calls me dedicated. I call it passion.

Will has been my right hand man. I knew what to do with the engineering but Will knew how to do it. We are perfect partners. Christina is my rookie cookie. She handles the money and the men. We are the dream team. Well for illegal street racing I guess.

#

Christina said at lunch today at school that she had to dress me for this race. I mentally groaned.

#

Christina was throwing clothes from my cupboard, littering my floor.

"Do you have anything attractive in here?" she asks, frustrated.

"Do you think the boys would let me leave the house?" I responded flatly. She groaned.

Chris eventually found skin tight ripped skinny jeans, that made my legs look very flattering. A red lacy crop top and my signature black leather jacket. I also had to wear black heeled boots but I mean, I'll somehow survive. I let my hair out in beautiful waves, considering I always have my hair up. I let Christina do a full face of makeup, sort of a disguise I guess. I throw on mirror shades and we walk towards my car. Chris drives a flashy neon green car for her and Will to drive in.

When we get there, I drive and park my car along the curb, perfectly in line with the other two cars. The boys look in my direction but I keep my vision ahead of me as I see Shauna walk out in front. Christina walks up to Zeke with her hair in front of her face, disguising her, she gives him one grand for the race. I'm not stupid enough to empty my pockets on the first race.

"Yo!" Shauna yells, catching everyone's attention and silence. "You all know the deal. Winner gets cash." I look at the boys beside me. I need to win.

"Ready. Set. Go!" She yells. The three cars race past her.

I race 200 miles ahead in under fifteen seconds already. I seem to be neck and neck with Uriah but Four is hot on our tails. Once we reach half way, I turn on my first NOS tank and I sink into my sit. A smile lighting up my face. I can't help but realease a little squeal. Uriah and Four are left behind me, wondering where I got my speed.

After much research, I realized that with a bit of a quick. You can win any race. The boys will be startled, but Zeke is a smart boy when it comes to cars. He'll work it out.

I cross the finish line and a swarm of people surround my car.

"Well well well. We have a new winner tonight." Zeke yells, fanning his face with my newly won cash. Uriah and Four finally cross the finish line and park either side of me. I get out of my car and make my way to Zeke.

"And may I ask who our winner is?" Zeke asks, his curiosity bubbles out of him. Uriah and Four make their way near Zeke and seem to strain their hands wanting to hear my answer. The crowd asks who I am, and a smirk makes its way onto my face.

But it falters.

Name?

I have no clue. I can't say Tris. Or Beatrice.

I'm born on the sixth of October. And because of my birthday my lucky number is six. Okay sorry Four, I'll admit know. I copied the idea from your name.

"My name is Six." I reply with a grin and a wink.

"Well, Six, I believe that this is yours." He says handing over three grand. I grab it and give it to Chris who was standing beside me. As she grabs the cash she whispers, "Will said that there would be cops in less than seven minutes." I nod.

"Well, it was amazing meeting you all, but I need to leave," I say. I lean forward to whisper to them, "Cops will be here any minute boys." I walk away but not without winking and racing home.

#

I follow the same routine yesterday but with wiping my makeup off and changing into something comfortable and putting my hair in a bun. I hear the boys enter but tonight they are not silent.

"A girl beat us tonight. A girl. And she was a pretty girl." Uriah whispers, still surprised.

"I can't believe. She was stunning. But nothing compared to Shauna." Zeke agrees. A blush rushes to my cheek.

"You mostly see girls as strippers there, but she, she was different. She raced. And she was good. I've never been more attracted to a stranger." I hear Four. I smile. Four was attracted to Six. Who was me. So basically Four was attracted to me. But he doesn't know that. Argh.

I said earlier that I had a minor crash on Four when I was younger. Well as I grew older my crush seemed to grow as well, and it took everything in me to control the heat rushing to my cheeks whenever he said anything flirty to me. I curse hormones.

Uriah makes his way to my bed and kisses my temple before waling to his bed. I've discovered that after each race, they take turns kissing me goodnight. It's my favorite part of the night, because to me, it was a reminder that they didn't die doing something stupid. I fell asleep with a stupid grin on my face.
