You sit on the ground and play with your baby. She was beautiful, but you couldn't get over how much she looked like her dad. You know that you should call Anthony and tell him that he has a healthy daughter, but damn was it hard. There were countless nights that you had your hand on your phone, ready to dial his number, but you just couldn't bring yourself to. Calling him would admit defeat, besides, he's doing just fine. He really seems to love Jasmine. You grab Alison and bounce her on your hip. "Do you want to go out, Allie?"

She claps her hands together, causing you to smile. You quickly grab her diaper bag, which doubles as your purse, and strap her into her baby carrier. You walk down the busy, New York streets, before you reach the closest Starbucks. You order your coffee and take a seat next to the door. As you munch on your scone, Anthony and his new girlfriend walk in. She's draped over his arm, laughing at something he said before they came in. You smile softly when his eyes meet yours. He mutters something to Jasmine before walking over to you, alone.

"Hi. Is she..." he pauses, unsure how to ask his question.

You nod slightly. "Yeah... Her name's Allison."

"She's beautiful. Can I hold her?"

You unstrap her and hand her to him. He holds her as if she's about to break, causing you to laugh. "Babies don't break easily. I've managed to keep her alive for three months."

He smiles. "When was her birthday?"

"March 5th."

He nods slightly, thinking about all the time he missed. Jasmine walks over to him and smiles at you. He looks up. "Oh, uh, (Y/N), this is Jasmine."

You give her a fake smile before taking your daughter back. "It's a pleasure to meet you Jasmine, but I really have to get going."

Anthony grabs your arm as you stand up. "Call me if you need any help with her. I mean it."

"I will."

As you walk out, you hear him talk to his girlfriend. "That's my daughter."

You hear Jasmine giggle. "I'm sure you'd be a great dad. Keep her in your life, okay?"

"I'm not letting them out of my life again."
