Part of the "Embarrassed?" series, but it's not really hamilsquad x reader

Every week since that morning (which was over a month ago), Philip had come into your room for counseling. Sure, you weren't technically certified to do this, but technically this wasn't during school hours; it was every Tuesday at five in the morning with coffee and bagels.

"What were you thinking about?" Philip asks out of nowhere.

You raise an eyebrow. "When?"

"When I came in that first morning? I know you were worried about me, but that couldn't have been it," he explains.

You sigh and set your half-eaten bagel on the desk. "Life stuff. Like how I'm going to pay off all these student loans, if my roommate paid her part of the rent. Stuff like that. It was nothing really."

"You seemed pretty upset over nothing."

"You aren't going to give up."

"Nope," he takes another bite of his bagel.

You roll your eyes and laugh. "The night ended with my boyfriend dumping me, which wasn't that bad. He was a jerk. My cat stepped in my ice cream, which was very rude of him, and we had a stern talk about it," you start causing Philip to laugh. "My book got rejected by yet another publisher. This makes ten? I think? It was just one of those days where it feels like the world is falling in on you, y'know? Like, I'm used to those rejection letters. It was really funny to see the look on my cat's face when he realized what he had done. And, like I said, Thomas was a total jerk. I was thinking of dumping him."

"Why'd you come to the school though? Those days normally make me want to stay in bed."

"Why'd you come to the school, then?"

"I asked you first," he argues.

"I'm your teacher," you counter.

"I didn't want my dads finding out," he mumbles.

"Why not?"

He sighs. "Because, they make a big deal out of everything. I didn't want them to know that I was embarrassed by them. I love them. I didn't want them to think that I don't."

"Are you still embarrassed by them?"

"Kinda. I mean, I understand what you keep telling me, but it's hard."

You sigh. "I'm sorry. I wish I could help."

"Keep meeting with me and bringing coffee. I'll be happy," he jokes.

"Philip."

"Sorry."

You grab an ice cream sandwich and sit on the couch while talking to your roommate. "You don't get it, Angelica. The kid obviously just wants to be normal. I just don't know what to do."

"How am I supposed to help?" she asks, less interested in your problems and more interested in whatever she is watching.

"I don't know! What would you want to hear if you were him?"

She sighs and pauses the show. "I would just want to be accepted by my classmates. But, you can't help with that."

You open your mouth to respond, but she continues. "(Y/N), I know you want to make him feel comfortable, and I really like that about you, but there are some things you cannot do. This is one of them. But, you can be there for him, and maybe talk to his parents. From the sound of it, they don't know how their son feels."

You sigh and rest your head on her shoulder. "Why do you always have to be right?"

(A/N: Hope you like it! Have a good day!)
