You walk into Professor Scamander's class first. Care of Magical Creatures was your favorite class.

"Ah, Ms. (L/N), you're early," Professor Scamander greets.

You chuckle and set your books down. "I didn't think it would be wise to lose points in the first class.

He laughs and goes about feeding his beasts. One by one students trickle in. You laugh when Thomas Jefferson walks in with a broken nose. He sends you a quick glare and sits next to the other Ravenclaws in the front. John and the new kid follow soon after. John sits to your left and wraps an arm around your shoulder, while the new kid sits at your right.

"Who are you?" you ask him.

"Alexander Hamilton. And you are...?"

"(Y/N) (L/N). American I presume."

He laughs. "I came from Ilvermorny."

"Why'd you come to Hogwarts?"

"There's a seventh year, Burr I think, who was able to fast track through his studies."

You roll your eyes. "Washington won't let you do that. You're lucky he even let you come."

"Why do you say that?"

"He-"

"Alright, class. Settle down," Professor Scamander starts. "Welcome back to my returning students. I believe we also have a new face. Mr. Hamilton. I'm sure you will make him feel welcomed. Now, let's get started."

You listen to his talk about his beasts for a little before he is interrupted by one of them.

"My earring!" a girl shrieks.

"Shut up, Heather!" the girl next to her yells.

"Sorry, Heather."

Professor Scamander rolls his eyes. "Don't worry, Heather. I'm sure we can find the niffler by the end of class. If anyone sees him, let me know. Now, as I was saying..."

Hamilton leans over to you. "Niffler?"

"Small, furry, long snout, likes shiny things," you explain. "Scamander's favorite, even if he won't admit it."

He nods slowly. It isn't long before you feel something tugging on your cloak. You shake your head slightly and pick up the niffler. Since Professor Scamander isn't paying attention, you shake the earring free, along with a few other things students lost. You hold the niffler tightly and set the stolen treasures on the desk.

"Professor Scamander," you call. "I found Heather's earring."

He walks over to you. "Ah, well, thank you. Oh, it seems you found my wife's brooch. She's been looking everywhere for that. Ten points to Hufflepuff."

"But it was my earring," Heather protests.

He ignores her and sets the earring in front of her. He turns to address the class. "I hope this was a reminder for you to leave any shiny objects in your common rooms."

You make it through your next few classes before joining your friends in the dining hall for lunch. You take a seat between John and Eliza. Hamilton stuffs his face with food between questions. "What's the deal with Jefferson?"

You laugh. "That prick! He thinks he's so much better than everyone because he's a pureblood. He's also on the Ravenclaw Quidditch team. He's not even that good. He only got on because he bought them all new broomsticks."

Hamilton rolls his eyes and changes the subject. "Who has the best quidditch team?"

"Gryffindor," John cheers.

You roll your eyes.

"But Hufflepuff's pretty good," John says, trying to save himself.

You glare at him.

"They have the best beater."

You smile at the compliment, even if it was a flat out lie. "Thank you."

You stand up to leave, you said you were going to help Professor Scamander feed his beasts, but Hamilton stops you. "Where do you get a niffler?"

You giggle. "Planning on stealing something?"

"Well, no. Just curious."

"If you were going to steal something from Jefferson, then I would gladly help you."

His eyes light up.

"Meet me in the first-floor girls' lavatory. John can show you where it is."

Hamilton gives you a confused look as you leave.

~~~
"Professor Scamander, I think I lost my remembrall. Could I borrow the niffler to find it?"
He laughs. "Of course. Bring him back tomorrow. And don't steal anything! I'm trusting you!"
You pick up the niffler and start to leave. "Thank you!"
~~~

You meet Hamilton in the bathroom and pull the niffler out from underneath your cloak. "Here you go. Make sure he doesn't get caught. Meet me back here ten minutes before curfew so I can give him to Scamander."

(A/N: I've been watching Harry Potter. Hope you like it. Happy new year!)
