You help your husband decorate the tree with ornaments that you got for different milestones in your life. You pull out a small, glass stocking that your mother got when Philip was born. It had his name on it. Alex walks over to you and wraps his arm around your waist. He presses his lips to your temple and mutters, "Our first Christmas with Philip."
You look across the room to the crib where the almost one-year-old is sleeping soundly. "Can you believe it?"
"It seems like just yesterday that we were in college, figuring out what we were going to do with our lives."
"And now we have our own little one to care for."
"And you know what?"
You kiss his nose. "What?"
"I couldn't be happier." He leans down and kisses you, only to be interrupted by a screaming child. He sighs and walks over to his son. "Shh, baby, it's okay." He lifts Philip out of the crib and brings him over to the tree. Philip is fascinated by the bright lights and shiny decorations. Alex stares at his son with a look of pure admiration, causing you to smile. You quietly grab your phone and take a picture of Alex gently kissing your child's head.
(A/N: Sorry this is short. I haven't been home. Have a good day! Stay safe! Love you!)
