[36] "Where is the chicken?!"

"Mommy!" A voice screamed as my ears perked to the approaching steps. My golden eyes darted to Winter as she ran with tears in her eyes. I crouched down to her height as she nuzzled me. "I was so scared." She sobbed as I held my breath. "He told me I couldn't go to you." My curiosity grew largely. "Who?"

"Mr.NotSoNiceGuy!"

I was beyond confused. "Crescent, Have a clue?" I asked nuzzling her once more. "Nope." I picked her up calmly trying to express my feelings towards her to relax. I placed her down as I dug into the dirt under a tree. "It's okay sweetheart. Shift back." She did as told as I opened the container filled with clothes. She shoved on the big shirt and I crouched down once again as she wiped her tears through her hiccups and quickly climbed onto my back. I pushed the box back into the dirt not bothering to cover it as I started towards the castle.

No guards were on the site which worried me. It explained my unanswered question. Where were the guards to help?

I stepped into the open door looking around at the chefs and maids. "What is going on?" I questioned through an open link to everyone around the room. Many looked to us. "Your highness, We are having a dinner with a pack. Where are your guards?" I licked my muzzle. "I've been wondering the same question."

"So you will not be attending until tonight." My brother explained. I nodded my head as I thought about it. Considering it is dinner, I don't believe they would enjoy having a wolf at the table, royal or not. I still had not got information about the guards. My guards were found in the hallway, passed out. They hadn't remembered anything in which I had been concerned about.

"Everything is alright now," Chase spoke, attempting to cheer me up from the odd look that probably shown in my eyes.

"Who's the pack we shall be dining with? " I asked. "Aspen Falls." He replied. Nodding, I turned and walked towards the window. I climbed onto the edge seat and sat staring out the window. We sat in silence as I stared in a certain direction. "I didn't mean to kill him," I muttered. Chase walked forward before looking out where I was too. "I know you didn't. It's not your fault. Your inner beast wanted to protect you. It's like Crescent's own wolf. Since you're in danger, she is, when she is in danger, her wolf is. It's like a chain reaction."

Soaking in the information, I realize I'm getting used to getting to know a lot at once. "Your eyes are a normal brown; Crescent's are gold considering your an alpha mate, and then your red ones are your inner wolf." I nodded to this piece of info. "Why don't other wolves have them?"

"They do." He stated as a matter-of-fact. "They just are not strong enough to let them out. Our bodies are stronger than they appear, Amber. Us, Royals, tend to only reveal it because our bodies are capable of letting them out.

I sighed, So even, pups have it. "That reminds me, Winter...She used to have white fur." He chuckled. "She was around you was why. Your abilities make that happen. As odd as it sounds, your abilities mixed together and Crescent spoke out to Winter's wolf. Due to you wanting to protect the pup, it was like a shield. Just until you knew she was safe." I was still slightly confused by this but nodded once again anyways.

"Well, I should be off. I need to get ready for the dinner. Don't forget the run later. People still want to meet you." He ordered standing up. He soon left the room after speaking with me as I looked out the window some more. Looking at the door, I lifted a paw. Four different elements appeared mixing.

Fire
Earth
Water
Energy

All red, green and brown, blue, and yellow. It was strange for me to even have these powers. "Wait a minute...

If Bryce was an alpha, why was he at a pet shop?!

What happened to me to make the people who kidnapped me, want me?!

And where is the chicken?!... Sorry, I'm hungry. Stupid pregnant hormones."

"Those do not make sense to me either. I had been wondering since we were pups." Crescent spoke. I groaned internally. "But the chicken idea, I had wondered since around two minutes ago when I caught the scent." I sniffed the air. "Ahhhhh," We spoke in unison. "Chicken~!"

We both laughed. "How are you feeling?" I questioned. "I'm okay... I, of course, want to go home, but this is for the best. Besides, a visit to our brother is great! Getting more information about my wolf, or something." She sounded slightly cheerful. "Although I have been talking to Luke, so I'm better than last time."

"What?!" I heard a giggle then silence. "Crescent!" I barked. Still, no response and I whined in irritation. Standing up, I turned and hopped down. I moved towards the door, opening it and seeing my guards. "Are you guys feeling better now?" They looked down at me with a slight smile.

"Yes luna, thank you for asking. We apologize for not being there to protect you. We should have done a better job." I rolled my eyes. "You guys are there 24/7, It is alright." I stepped out. "Any of you care for a small run. They will be starting dinner about now and I want to get a head start of my running." They looked at each other. Ever since the incident earlier today, Chase put more guards around me and wants them near all the time. There was even some outside my window.

"Sure, Ma'am. Let's go." We began walking, only my nails hitting the floor could be heard as we moved down the stairs. Knowing they were probably greeting people at the door, I led them to the back door and we soon left. We entered the tree line as they shifted, their armor expanding thanks to witch magic; before we started out in a trot than sped up. We ran for around twenty minutes. I was just goofing around as they kept their distance a little, just wanting to let me know they were here and always watching. Suddenly I felt something hit me and slowed down. What was-

Thump.

I looked around confused then down. I saw a bump or something and then I realized what had just happened. My baby just kicked.

I am so sorry for not updating sooner! I had writer's block for a while and plan to try and update more.

It's my birthday lol. March 27th and its the easiest for my parents because I asked for nothing so I received nothing! I'd rather give than get. Anyways, just wanted to say hey and love ya all! ~ <3
