Stella's POV- February 2016

"I'll have what she's having"

The waiter nodded and excused himself.

"Sorry I was late"

I smiled and shook my head as I took a look at Trayce who was taking off his jacket.

"It's fine, I got here like 5 minutes before you" I admitted.

He smiled and nodded.

"Ok, than makes me feel slightly better"

"My meeting with my advisor ran longer than it should have" I told him.

"It went well?"

I nodded.

"It went as well as it could" I stated.

He raised an eyebrow.

"How so?"

"I don't want to bore you" I admitted.

He smiled and cocked his head to the side.

"I'm genuinely curious though"

"I'm actually in a PhD program" I started.

His eyes widened a bit.

"I applied for an MA at the beginning of the school year, and I got it approved. My advisor was just making sure I was up to date with everything" I told him.

"So you're working on both at the same time?"

I nodded.

"That's actually really amazing"

I shrugged lightly and he smiled.

"So what exactly are you studying?"

"Cognitive and Behavioral Neuroscience" I said.

He nodded slowly.

"What do you want to do with that?"

"I really like the research side of it" I told him.

"So you want to teach it?"

"I wouldn't mind" I admitted.

"What made you want to study this?"

"I've always been fascinated on how the human brain works" I said.

"If you don't mind me asking"

I smiled.

"How old are you?"

"I'm 21" I stated.

He looked at me a bit surprised.

"I turn 22 on Thursday" I said.

"That makes me feel better about myself"

I laughed and sat up.

"How old are you?" I asked.

"I'm 24"

"You don't look 24" I stated.

He shrugged.

"Aren't most people your age are figuring out what they want to do in life"

"I did my undergrad in 3 years" I told him.

"So where did you do your undergrad?"

"University of Florida" I said.

He hummed.

"And you're from SoCal"

I nodded.

"Why so far?"
