FORTY NINE

Trayce's POV- Thanksgiving 2016

I smiled at Stella's mom, Emma as she answered the door.

"It is freezing. Give me a hug and come on in"

I adjusted the pies I was holding and gave her a light squeeze.

"Where do I put the pies?" I asked her.

"Just place them on the kitchen counter"

I nodded and made my way inside.

"Good evening"

"Long time no see" I joked as I made my way over to Stella's dad, Derek.

"Stella is upstairs, you can go make her hurry up"

He squeezed my shoulder and went to greet my family. I took the time to make my way up the stairs where Stella's room was.

"Knock knock" I called out as I opened the door to her room.

"Bathroom!"

I walked into her room and smiled at Stella and Sonia who were getting ready.

"Go greet Israel, She's almost done with my hair"

I chuckled and kissed Stella's cheek before making my way to Sonia's room. Stella and Sonia shared a bathroom (A jack and jill style bathroom).

"You look excited to be here" I stated.

Sonia's boyfriend, Israel shifted on his side and looked at me.

"I just got over a flu"

I nodded and he sat up.

"Nice to see you again" I said.

When he left back to Minnesota we were not on good terms. He had stopped an argument I was having with Stella. I have to give him props, he was a good 4 inches smaller and 50lbs lighter but he was willing to fight me if I didn't stop fighting with Stella.

"You too man, I heard your back is all better"

I nodded.

"So is my attitude" I mentioned.

He smiled and chuckled.

"I didn't bring it up, but it's nice to know you're ok"

I offered him a smile and turned when I heard a sigh.

"Now leave so I can finish getting ready"

Sonia smiled at me.

"It's nice to see you Trayce, I see you're letting your hair grow out"

"I've just been lazy to get it cut" I told her as I hugged her.

She kissed my cheek and pulled away to look at me.

"You shave your head, how is that time consuming?"

I shrugged and she laughed.

"Can I shave your head?"

"Sure" I said earning a nod from her.

"Glad to see the ass is still there"

"No one roots for my butt as much as you do" I stated.

She shrugged.

"Is your family here or is it just you?"

"They're all downstairs" I told her.

She nodded and glanced at Israel who stood up.

"Alright, we will see you two down there"

I nodded and they left the room. I looked at Stella who sighed and shook her head.
