Dev Reddy.
I was all set for my reception party. I was, like my Grandmom said, acting like a two-year old. I mean I was just over excited! Of course who wouldn't be? Right, I ain't excited as I'll get to spend some time with that demon or something! I'm just super excited to meet all my old buddies as Rahul informed me that he had invited all our childhood friends! So freacking excited. I was just checking out my hairstyle in the spare room which was beside Pragya's room as my so-called demon wife had captured my room for this evening.
She's so damn bossy I've to say. She literally kicked me out of my own room saying it was her evening and she had to look elegant. Why is she so damn excited about this reception? I don't get it! Whatever it is I seriously shouldn't care. Yes I shouldn't, won't and don't.
"Bro, come down fast. We're all waiting!" Came Rahul's message. Oh yes! I took a deep breath and walked out of my room with my head held high. I started walking down towards the stairs when I saw Priya, my cousin. Jeez, why me always? I hid behind a pillar so she couldn't find me. I guess Pragya has spilled the beans. She told Priya about my whereabouts. I'm so gonna kill that little devil!
This Priya hasn't changed even a bit! She's just the old clingy, annoying and mad girl who is obsessed with me! I slowly tip-toed until I was out of her sight. She slowly opened the door of the spare room and entered in. Good! I was above to move when she came out with an annoyed expression. Damn! Now I've gotta escape. I ran to the opposite direction of stairs and hid under a table which was near my Mom-Dad's room.
Priya searched all over and climbed down the stairs while I sighed in relief and took a deep breath. I was back to my old excited self. I got up and was above to run when my Mom pulled me back by holding my collar. What's with the ladies of this house, damn.
"Mom leave me, I need to go!" I whisper shouted to which my Mom just gave me questioning look. "Where is Aradhaya? You won't go down until she is with you. Get it?" My Mom ordered. "Mom, Aradhaya will take decades to get ready. I have to meet to my friends. Let me go!" I said annoyed. "Shut up! She's your wife!" Mom said and walked off. Dad came near me and patted my shoulder. "Son, get ready for your married life." My dad said and walked off after giving me a pitiful look. What's wrong with everyone, man? I'm going mad!
I walked near my room and knocked on the door. A lady whom I guess is the makeup artist opened the door. "Sir, ma'am will be there in ten minutes." She closed the door. Great. I waited for ten minutes. She didn't come. Another twenty minutes too passed away but she didn't come out. Now I'm not allowed to spend time with my friends also.
I've decided to go down. So I slowly tip-toed and checked where my Mom was. She was standing with her friends enjoying the party. I slowly walked down and walked off to a corner where none can see me. Then it took me five minutes to figure out where my friends were. After I found them I ran towards them excitedly. How much I missed them. I hugged them and we all had started talking about our lives while sipping juice.
"Excuse me boys. Can I borrow my son for sometime?" It was Mom. "Sure." They said and started talking within themselves when my Mom gave me an angry look and moved towards a corner. I followed her and stood in front. "Where's Aradhaya?" She questioned. "Mo-Mom I-I" I couldn't say anything. "Just shut up idiot. Don't talk to me. Go up right now and get her here." She whisper shouted at me. Seriously now that demon is more important than the heir of Oberoi Industries! You wrecked my life, Aradhaya!
I slowly walked up with a sad look. I was so irritated with Aradhaya and disappointed with mom's behaviour. But seriously who cares about me? All they want is that bloody demon. I walked in and didn't bother to knock. The sight in front of me surprised me to the core! "What the actual hell?" Is all I could say when I saw Shilpa and Aradhaya sitting on my bed in my room. What's going on? "Oh baby, you're here. Come. I was about to tell your wife about you." Shilpa said.
"Would you please start speaking? I've got no time for all of this." Came Aradhaya's voice. Tonight I'll be dead meat! What if Aradhya will tell all this to mom? Mom will surely kick me out! Oh no! I'm so dead tonight. "Oh yes Mrs. Aradhaya Dev Oberoi, wha-" Aradhaya cut Shilpa off in the middle. "It's Mrs. Aradhaya Raichand. If I'm married that doesn't mean I'll change my name. Change shouldn't be in names and surnames. Change should be visible in the person." She said and signed her to continue. Pretty impressive, ah?
"Okay whatever. So what I was saying is your so-called husband is not at all pure. He had an one night stand with me! He is a complete playboy and you're so pure. You don't deserve him. Divorce him." Shilpa said shocking me. Done, I'm so done! "Who are you to advice me? Just one of my husband 's one night stand!" Aradhaya said to which we both opened our mouths in shock.
"Listen I don't care if he had made out with you or any other damn girl because before marriage we both had our own individual lives. He can do what he want and same goes with me. Did he even contact you after our marriage? No right. Then why should I divorce him knowing that he ain't cheating on me?" She said. This girl never fails to surprise me.
"You know what? I've never expected for a virgin and pure husband as I myself am not pure. I've lost my virginity ages before!" She said. "What?" We both blurted at the same time. "Will you shut up?" She said looking towards me to which I put my finger on my lips. "I hope you know the way out. Don't create a scene and just get away before I call for the bodyguards. Here take this. For this damn money you've done this right? Out!" She shouted. Shilpa took the money and ran away. This Shilpa surely doesn't have self respect. God.
"Everyone's waiting. Let's go." She said and was about to move when I came and stood in front of her, stopping her from moving. "You've lost your virginity? When? How? Why?" I questioned. Suddenly her cold expression changed into a broken one. Hurt was evidently seen in her eyes. But why? "Listen I don't want to talk about this. I've just lied to that girl so she won't disturb you again." She said and pushed me aside. I sighed in relief and stopped her again.
"One more question! Why didn't you want her to be in my life? Why do you care? Why did you take my side?" I blurted out. "Listen whatever it is we both are married and she's just a stranger. I don't want any one to interfere in our life. If I'd pretend like I don't care and wouldn't have taken your side, then she would come to know about our relation. It's not a good thing to happen so I did that. Now don't ask me any more questions and let's go." She said.
I thought this mad bossy demon doesn't use her small brain but boy, I was wrong. What she did was, absolutely right. She even lied about loosing her virginity. After today I think the respect for her in my heart rose up. I guess we both together can make up. This marriage can be successful.
I've got a little ray of hope.
