Dev Reddy.
Why's she so damn irritating bro? I closed my eyes and tried to calm down when the kid beside me had started crying. What the hell? I opened my eyes and saw a small kiddo crying and shrieking while his Mom tried to calm him down. "Umm-excuse me? Can you please take care of my son?" She asked and before I could reply, she put her son on my lap. What kind of mom is she? "Thanks alot." She said and walked away near some counter to shop. I started rocking the baby so he would stop crying but no he had to trouble the living crap out of me. And after so many efforts, he has calmed down and started looking around. Atlast!
"What is wrong young boy?" An old man came and sat beside me.
"Everything's wrong." I said looking straight. "Share. Alex here." He said and moved comforting himself in the seat. "Dev." I said.
"I'm listening." He said and it reminded me of Pragya. "My wife. I and she fought yesterday and I misunderstood her. I insulted and hurt her badly when she believed me. I broke her." I said sadly. I felt a soft hand on my shoulder and I looked up to see Alex. He was in his mid sixty's but still looked all young and glorious."Son, marriage is a dare. It's a dare which is taken up by two people. Once you accept, there's no looking back. Whatever it is you've to be strong and face it." He said while I gave a small smile. "Well, do you regret hurting her?" He questioned to which I nodded. "I repent." I spoke my heart out. "Then it's enough. Go apologise. She'll forgive you." He said to which I laughed a bit.
"I've already apologised or I'd rather say begged her to forgive me in the morning and what she did was to get me here for shopping. It was none other than my sis who gave her this idea. I thought she would shop a little and we'll go back. But no, this lady has decided to spend her whole life in this shopping mall. Literally I'm waiting her from two hours, still she hasn't completed her shopping. Upon this some stupid lady has given me her son to take care of and walked away to shop stuff. Like what the hell? I know what I did was wrong but who does this to a man? My sister and my wife are the most important people of my life and they just decided to wreck my life. I'm going mad." I took out all my frustration and closed my eyes. Alex started laughing until there were tears in his eyes.
"That's why never fight with your wife. Women are sweet and dangerous at the same time. You'll get used to it man and you're just waiting here from two hours, but I'm here from three hours. You know what? This ain't my first time." He laughed a bit more and I too joined him. "Your wife is really lucky Alex, to have you." I said and gave a genuine smile. "Do you love your wife?" I was dumbstruck.
"Still not. But I guess I'm falling in love with her. If not, she'll make me fall for her head over heals." I said confidently and smiled. "Why? Is she so hot that you can't resist?" He said winking. Holy crap, is he even sixty years? "Well, she's beautiful from inside and outside. But just a bit impatient and arrogant." I said and he laughed. "Okay young man, I have to go. Bye. We'll meet next time maybe, again." He said winking and walked away. I smiled and looked at the kid who was asleep now. Cute. Soon, his mom came and took him away. It was hard to leave him still I let go. I guess I'll be a good father to my babies.
