Emma skipped a rock easily across the water. I counted four skips before it sunk under the water. The river was at least 10 feet wide, but she did skip it forward as we walked.
"You feeling okay?" She asked.
"I feel fine now. Resisting it practically just pushed it aside completely. I guess I don't crave it unless I see it." I told her.
"I told you it would be fine." She smiled.
"I guess so." I smiled back. I kicked a stone into the water.
"Just relax alright." Emma smiled.
"I heard you the first time." I narrowed my eyes and looked over my shoulder.
"And I'm going to keep saying it until you do." Emma smiled.
"Fine. I'll relax." I smirked and kicked another stone, but this one I shot straight ahead and into the tree with enough force for it to shoot back at us. I ducked as it hit Emma right between the eyes.
She stumbled backwards as it wasn't a forceful hit, but it was enough to get a point across. I looked over my shoulder and smiled brightly at her. "Relaxed enough for you?"
She rubbed her forehead and glared at me. "You'll regret that." she growled.
I loved challenging Emma. She didn't fight like my mother did. My mother required me to think and act at the same time, but Emma forced me to move. She could attack from any direction at any time, or multiple directions at once. Shades were extremely dangerous.
Her eyes glowed their bright Emerald color hence her full name. Emerald Grey.
She vanished and reappeared in front of me, her arm covered in shadows as she swung forward. If I didn't back flip away, landing on my hands and pushing upward landing back on my feet, the blade of the sword she materialized would have stabbed into me like a shish-ka-bob.
Luckily for me, when she went back in my body she can heal all the wounds she inflicted on me. But I think she'd let me suffer a bit first.
I laughed at her which only made her even angrier. "Hold still!" She barked.
"If I did I'd be too easy." I answered.
She smirked and something wrapped around my legs. Spreading up from my shadow were snake-like tendrils that wrapped around my legs tightly holding me in place. When I grabbed at them to yank them off, they were like trying to bend a titanium bar with your bare hands. Impossible. For a human. But that's what it felt like to me.
She touched her sword hand to my chin and used the flat of it to raise my head. "You done being an ass?" She asked.
"I ask myself the same question." I sneered. I smacked the blade downwards causing her to stumble. As she did I used my other hand to grab her neck and lift her off the ground. She wrapped her legs around my shoulder and twisted her body forcing me to release her or have her break my arm at the shoulder. She was basically sitting on my shoulder still holding my arm, only now she leaned back, and seeing as my legs wouldn't move, I ended up landing on my back hard. She allowed the shadow tentacles to bend as I fell so they wouldn't break my legs, but her foot was pinning my throat and she had a iron grip on my arm.
"This isn't wrestling you ass hole!" I hissed.
"Say it!" She barked.
"Uncle!" I taunted.
She pressed down against my neck and pulled on my arm.
"Bite me!" I growled. I let myself shift just like Kira taught me. I could only shift into my vampire beast form now. The wolf form apparently didn't come to me until I got my wolf.
