I was sitting back in my room. Emma was back in my head, and I was laying beside Alexis who was tightly holding my hand, careful not to move my shoulder.

I didn't know what to do, and I didn't know what to say. Avalar and Avalon were staying in the room straight across from mine. They were the ones who were supposed to kill me if I did anything wrong, and yet they were so close, and seemed so harmless.

"Relax Myra." Alexis called.

"How can I? My life is up for debate." I answered as I looked over at her.

"They won't decide anything unless you give them a reason, and you being afraid of them shows that you don't want to give them a reason." Alexis told me.

"Therefor I will stay afraid." I pulled the blankets over my head with my good arm.

Seriously? You're such a wimp. Emma sighed.

"So what? I don't want to die!" I growled.

"Emma, just leave her be for now." Alexis rolled her eyes.

I'm just worried about her! They won't touch her unless she murders someone! Emma answered.

"I know that, but still. She's scared."

"Whoa, whoa, whoa." I looked at Alexis. "You're reading my thoughts?"

"I'm your Shade too..." She laughed a bit.

"Right... but... even still..." I turned my head.

Just calm down okay? Emma asked.

"I'll try..." I answered.

I heard a whisper in the back of my thoughts, then Alexis wrapped her arms around me and held me tightly against her. She made sure she didn't hurt my shoulder but even still. My head was pressed against her shoulder.

Part of me wanted to push her away and ask why the hell she was holding me like this. I wasn't a child, I didn't need to be held because I was scared.

But the rest of me wanted this so bad. I wanted to be held because I was scared, and she- along with my parents- were the only people I wanted to hold me.

"They won't hurt you Myra. Just close your eyes and relax." Alexis told me. "Or at least try."

"W-Why are you holding me like this?" I asked her.

"I don't know any other way to get you to listen to me." Alexis answered as she pet my hair on the back of my head. "Please just try and relax."

"Alexis... I-."

"Shhh." She told me.

We stayed like that for a while in silence. No one said a word, and no one made a sound. The only things I could hear were her breathing, and her heartbeat.

There was a knock on the door, and Alexis gently pushed me away. "Come in." I called.

Kira stepped in with Alison standing behind her. "Alexis, Emma, can you two wait here? Myra, come with us." Kira called.

"Am I in trouble?" I asked.

"Not at all." Alison answered.

Emma materialized on the foot of my bed as I stood up. My shoulder felt stiff and I just wished it would heal already. I followed them out and they led me out the front door.

"Where are we going?" I asked.

"To the village." Kira answered.

"Really?!" I asked. "Then why aren't Alexis and Emma coming?"
