“H-How do I do this?” Alexis asked.
“Don't think about it, just do it.” Rose answered.
Alexis looked at me for a moment before closing her eyes. “Myra Nightshade, will you become my host, and allow me to join Emma in your soul?” She asked me.
“Yes.” I answered. She reached her hand out to me, and I took hold of it with my good arm.
“Will you allow me to fight with you, and protect those you care about as one?”
“Yes.”
“Will me inside.” she told me.
“Alexis Blight, join with my soul, and become one with us.” I told her.
She pulled me forward and as I stumbled into her, her body phased into me like a ghost. The feeling caused me to drop to my knees as I could feel her soul wrap around mine and join with Emma's. I hated the feeling of another Shade in my body, but Alexis's soul was warming, and I actually wanted it close to mine.
It took maybe two minutes, but then the feeling subsided.
We are one. I heard Alexis say in my thoughts.
“Normally we would have you test your new strength with a duel...” Rose said as she looked at Alice. “...But with your shoulder injury you are not fit for dueling. So instead you will be allowed to heal before we test it.”
“Great, because I feel like you wouldn't hold back.” I managed a weak smile as I stood up.
Rose laughed. “You wouldn't be fighting me. You would fight Alice.”
Her saying that caused me to look over at Alice who didn't seem to be paying attention. Instead she was looking down at the river. The way she seemed made me more nervous to fight her, than to fight Rose. I've always wondered just how powerful Alice was. She was obviously weaker than Kira, but she still seemed to outmatch her in some ways. It made me wonder if they were equals, and I've always wanted to see them duel.
“Perhaps you'll get your wish.” Rose smiled, reading my thoughts. I bit back a yelp as I looked at her. “She'll need to get back into practice after being asleep for so long.” I noticed she was looking over my shoulder, so I turned to meet her gaze.
Standing behind me was Kira and Alison. They were both smiling brightly, and I couldn't help but smile back and plow into Kira with a hug.
“Mère!” I smiled.
She wrapped her arms around me and squeezed more tightly than I would have liked. I let out a gasp and she released me. “Ow.” I whimpered. “Why'd you do that?”
“I didn't break your spine, but I could have.” She answered.
“Not cool.” I complained. Kira put her hand on my good shoulder then stepped forwards towards Alice, letting her hand fall off as she stood where I was previously.
“Alice?” She called. Alice looked over at her then pushed off the fence and stood in front of Kira. “I challenge you.”
“I accept.” Alice answered. Lillian giggled a bit and I could practically see the black magic from Zoe materialize on Kira's arms.
I didn't know how a Fairy could be anywhere near as powerful as a Shade could in battle, but I guessed we were about to find out.
Alison took my hand and led me over by Rose. She then leaned close to me and whispered “Did you tell her yet?” In my ear.
My face felt hot and I knew I was probably blushing like mad. “N-No I didn't tell her yet.”
“You will... or she might tell you first.” Alison laughed before sitting up on the fence. I hopped up an sat between her and Rose.
