Once, not so long ago, there was a girl that lived in the forest, and her name was Graywolf.  Most people in the "normal" world know her as Emerald Black.  I guess you could say there are a lot of secrets in her life. A big one being the whole truth about her best friend.  People would find it odd for a child to have such a friend.

His name is Jamie.  He is a black wolf with a white wolf howling on his forehead.  Graywolf has the same mark on her right palm, except hers is black.  It represents the bond they share, not to mention he's also her brother.  You see, young Graywolf was raised by wolves since she was very little.  No one really knows this child's story, not even her human friends, well not the whole story that is.  She is terrified to tell them to be honest with you.  But one day, she will have to tell them considering it may just save their lives one day.  As for right, now let's back up the story so you can understand it better.

It was early one morning in wolf territory, and the Central Wolf Pack was out on a hunt.  Though this was no ordinary hunt, this was Jamie's first hunt. Not only that he's no ordinary pup on his first hunt.  This, is the son of the alphas, one of the first pups to be born to Aniow and Afiow.  The sun had just started to come up, and Jamie found the trail to the deer herd they were following.  He let out a howl and the pack sprang into action.  They ran, and ran, till they found the herd and finished their hunt.  Jamie was now officially a pack mate, and would one day lead the packs.

On the way back, Jamie stopped dead in his tracks. He was staring at a child that was in turn, staring into the yellow eyes of a tiger.  Not just any tiger either, this was Sylon, he was the one to enforce punishments.  Graywolf was only four years old at the time, and held a little stuffed dog that her father had bought her at the store three days before she got lost in the forest.

Her father, unfortunately, went and brought a gun into the forest, and shot an elder tiger of Sylons pride.  Bringing in a gun is against the forest laws, her father knew this; but to kill an elder tiger as well? That was too much for Sylon to handle.   He wanted vengeance, but Jamie didn't see it fit for a child to be punished for something she didn't do.  "How is it right for someone so young to be punished because her father made a mistake and did a horrible thing?  What did the girl do?"  Aniow looked at her pup with sorrowful pride.  He was the only one to live in her first litter.  Sylon killed his brothers and sisters, but left Jamie.  After the incident Jamie's breathing was so shallow that nobody thought that he would survive another day. At the time he was only 4, but he did in fact survive, and was stronger then ever.  He kept to himself most of the time and it seemed as if he was empty inside.

Though Jamie wasn't empty today, no, he was full of rage and concern for the young girl that was only two years younger then him.  He was angry, and his mother and father only motioned to move on.  Jamie stared and watched as Sylon started to advance on the small child.  Jamie's body went into overdrive and flew in-between the tiger and the child.  He snarled deep down and kept the fire in his eyes being sure to keep them locked on the tiger.  Sylon was taken aback by this new development.

Aniow then leaped in beside her son, and the pack along with Afiow soon followed suit.  They surly didn't want to loose the only child they had left of their leaders.  "You got spunk kid. I'll give you that.  But tell me why do you protect the child?"  "She didn't do anything wrong. it was her father who broke the law.  You think I wasn't already told this story?  I already know what is going through your head.  The girl is innocent she didn't do anything."  Jamie spoke with rage shaking his voice.  Sylon seemed very amused by the young wolf but looked around and realized that if he would fight today, he would die today.

So he walked off and turned slightly as he did.  "You can't protect the guilty child forever.  I will have my vengeance."  Sylon thought that the parents would speak but was surprised when it was Jamie who spoke once more.  "That will be very difficult since now she will be under the protection of the pack.  She will eat with the pack, play, hunt, and live with the pack.  She will be one with the pack."  He spoke with defiance and strength in his voice.  His mother and father watched him as he spoke and looked to Sylon who only watched Jamie.
