A year went by and she was now 13. After that night a year ago she spent a night with Komodo at the cave with Jamie by her side. The same thing would happen each time stayed with him, Jamie would leave for the morning hunt and Graywolf and Komodo would talk till Jamie came back and made them get away from one another. She was still unsure of what she was suppose to do about the situation but she figured that it was better then focusing on Takuke being distant.
Today she was out hunting with Jamie when a Falcon from her Grandmothers village came swooping in scaring off their kill. They both growled at the bird before it landed with the note. "Looks like we have to cut this hunt short and head back. It's from Grandma. We have to show it to the others too." Jamie was annoyed but agreed that it was the best option. So they headded back.
On their return for their family they ran into Komodo. "Hey Graywolf." He said pulling her into a hug. "I havent seen you this past week. Are you okay? Did I make you mad?" "No silly, I've just been busy." She giggled into his chest. She felt him sigh in relief at her words. "Graywolf." Came the stern voice of her oldest brother Hikashi. She pulled away from Komodo and looked to see him watching Komodo with steel eyes.
"What do you have sissy." Takeshi said oblivious to the tension. "Oh. Look we have a letter from Grandma." She gave it to Hikashi. He read aloud.
"Children, It has been a long time since I last wrote you. I wish it was under better circumstances but it would seem that there are a few people here who do not believe I am the best suited for my position. I ask as your Grandmother for you to return to the village and be here to help me prove to them that I am able to do this properly. I understand that Graywolf does not think too highly of me but she understands that family comes first no matter what. Please come as soon as you can. With much love for you all Grandma Nadina."
"Should have known." Graywolf said annoyed by the news. She hoped that maybe she was sending it for Yjuu. But instead she was asking for help for them to come back to the village. "It's up to you guys. Do as you wish. I'm not going." "Graywolf you need to. She is family."
Graywolf growled. "Fine. Get the kids from Mom and we will go as soon as you get back." She turned to Komodo. "Looks like we wont be seeing eachother any time soon." He got an annoyed look but grabbed her by the hand. "Come with me."
Graywolf followed him and he took her to the falls agian. "I don't get why you have to go." "She's family." "No she is the woman who left you for dead on your coronation night." "Komodo." "NO! You don't get it. You can't leave. All this time that I have had with you and the kids. I dont want you to leave." "Its not that bad Komodo." He sighed in aggravation. "Graywolf. I love you. I have made that very clear these past few years. You are way to important for me to just let you walk away like this."
"Get away from her now." She jumped back from him and looked to see who was talking. Takuke then jumped down from a tree nearby. "So this is what you have been doing to my Graywolf when you have her here." "You have been ignoring her since you got here. So how is she your Graywolf when she lets me near her?" He countered Takuke. Takuke's eyes blazed. "We're leaving let's go." He told Graywolf as he dragged her away from the red head.
When they were a good ways away Graywolf pulled away from him seeing that he had left a bruise on her. He grabbed her hand gently and looked at what he did. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to hurt you." He told her as he kissed her bruise. It almost felt like she had the old Takuke back. "It's okay, But why did you get so mad?" He looked at her and she could see he put his guard back up.
Soon they left without her awnser with the two children she acquired all those years ago and went to find out what their grandmother wanted from them. When they arrived the others greeted her and her team with joy. "Graywolf, you are back!" Yjuu yelled as he picked her up and twirled her in his arms making her giggle at her old friends actions. It was good to see him agian but she had to admit she did miss her homeland.
They decided that their grandmother could wait a few more minutes when they had so many people to see first. They went by to Ryuu's place and the kids tackled him while he was training. He was shocked to see them but he smiled anyway. When he looked up his eyes met Graywolfs and he got up. "Welcome back Graywolf." He told her with a smile Ghosting his lips. "Good to be back." She told him smiling back at him.
He still had his cocky cool attitude but he seemed different now. Then again they all were older then when they first met. It was so different to deal with him in this way. He decided to take them out to lunch.
"This will be your first go around the village since you left. Since I was the first one to help you with the kids I think it's only fair to have them go on an outing with me and you." She liked the idea of having the kids go around as official members of the pack with someone that they knew well such as Ryuu.
