~a few days later, Wednesday afternoon.~
"Five hours? That's nothing." I said as I tossed my small luggage into the trunk of Ryan's car.
"You say that, but you've never been on the road with me. I've been told I 'drain people's energy.'" He got into the car, so did I. And we took off.
3 hours. 3 hours of singing, auguring, and laughing for no reason.
"Two hours to go, sweetheart." He sung.
I've never met his family, only his parents and they don't care if he does drugs and whatever, and I've never heard him talk about them.
"What is your family like?" I asked. The sun was setting and it was a cloudless night.
The stars were already showing, and there was still at least 10 minutes left of daylight.
He was turning the channels trying to find a song and stopped at a Shawn Mendes song.
"My Nana is a bit coo coo. She's the sweetest old lady you'll ever meet, but she is crazy."
I nodded. "Anyone else."
"Ashley. She is my fathers niece. Not related to anyone there except me. They love her more than anything. She can be a bit wild, but she is usually super chill."
I nodded. I was actually kinda tired. Ryan had the heat turned up but the back windows cracked, creating this weird temperature making me sleepy.
A song came on that wasn't slow but wasn't upbeat. Ryan seemed to know it as he hummed along. I turned to face him. His hazel eyes focused on the road.
"Tell me about everyone who is going to be there." I whispered. "Tell me childhood stories."
He glanced my way and smiled. He grabbed my hand and held it. It's warmth moved something inside me. Something I didn't know I felt.
Something I felt towards a person.
Ohm.
I smiled at that. Just the image of Ryan and i as a couple. It wouldn't be that different. Maybe we could kiss...
Stop thinking like that! He is dating someone. He doesn't even like me like that!
I frowned. He noticed.
"You okay?"
"Yeah just tired." And I want to kiss my best friend. Sounds about right.
He didn't move his hand. "You know, you can tell me anything. I won't judge. Hell, if you want to go sky diving Ill do it with you." He yawned.
Making me yawn.
"You looked like a kitten." He awed.
I squinted at him, "shut up."
He laughed.
"Tell me about you family." I said again.
He squeezed my hand.
"My Aunt Cindy and Uncle Jerry are a beautiful couple. Aren't able to have kids. But are thinking about adopting."
I hummed.
"My cousin Tom is bi. He was the first to come out. His mother, my mothers sister, disowned him. So now he lives with Nana."
As he went on talking I slowly closed my eyes.
I tried staying awake. Trying to listening to Ryan's gorgeous voice.
It seemed like a few minutes but Ryan shook me awake.
"Hmm?" I groaned rubbing my eyes.
I heard a low chuckle and a giggle.
I opened my eyes and say Ryan's brown eyes. I smiled when I saw him. He was right above me, wrapping his arms around me. Picking me up.
But right next to him was a guy with dark green eyes. "Why hello sleeping beauty. Aren't you just a doll?"
I could feel the confused look on my face. And Ryan glared at the other guy whom I'm guessing is Tom.
"Well Nana is asleep so I'm guessing you two are sharing a bed. No dirty stuff. Ryan, you know what room is yours. Show the cutie the bathroom too." He said.
But when we opened the door to the hose he whispered. "If Ryan cant keep you warm, my room is the closets to the bottom of the stairs." He said winking.
When Ryan made a noise in disapproval Tom raised his hands in defense. "I'm joking. You know Cathy would kill me."
