-Chapter 13-
As the usual, I spent my days in the garden. I sure, was going to miss this. You know, I’ll be having less time for this, schools in the weekdays and for sure lots of assignment in the weekends, but perhaps I could insert this through my going to be busy schedule.
Sitting on one of the seats on the tea table, I hover to the sunset as I placed my phone and sketchpad on top of the table. This will be the last day of vacation and school will be starting tomorrow. Looking over to the sun as it sets, it gives a nice view of my garden. Somehow, these past months, this garden had become my best friend. It’s so beautiful to watch my garden as the shadow of the plants began to fade and the color of each flower began to be unseen.
“Hey!”, a familiar voice disturbs my thoughts. I glanced over its direction and saw Troy walking towards me.
“Hi!”, I greeted back as Troy managed to make his self comfortable after sitting on a chair across me. I looked back at my garden trying to bring my thoughts back.
“What’s behind those mind?”, I heard Troy, once again disturbing me from my thoughts. I looked over at him and raised an eyebrow.
“Well, you seemed lost in your thoughts!”, he pointed out. I just smiled sarcastically. I’m not in the mood to have a talk now. It’s this feeling that what you want is just to feel the moment when the sun is setting? Sentimental, as you can call it.
Finally, Troy had somehow get my point and sit their quietly. I don’t really want to handle his weirdness. But, I awe him. He, well, is my first friend in this town, not to mention the orchids and other plants I usually talk to when Grand Ma’s not around. And to tell you why, she’s always in the market, she owns a place there.
We sat there for a while, but I don’t really know how many specifically. I can feel Troy’s glare at me but ignored him. I just want to feel the moment.
But, the silence becomes awkward in my part as I sense that Troy is staring at me. I can tell, I saw him in my peripheral vision. Not knowing what to do, I turned my head to face him and he seemed to be lost in his thoughts that he didn’t even notice that we’re facing each other.
“Is my face dirty or something?”, I ask snapping his thoughts.
Troy jumped off and shook his head a little.
“N…No!”, he started in obvious panic, “I just… erm.. I’m.. th…thinking. Yes, I’m thinking!”.
I frowned, what would he be thinking? And why is there a need to stare at me while he’s thinking?
“What are you thinking?”, I managed to ask.
“N…Nothing!”.
What the hell. He’s really crazy.
“You’re thinking of NOTHING?”, I frowned in disbelief.
He silently nods but not keeping an eye contact with me. He looks on everywhere but not me.
“You’re weird, Troy.”, and with that, I stood up and made my way to the main door but stopped when I heard Troy.
