Okay I know you'll be upset that this isn't a chapter. The next chapter will be up soon, probably after Thanksgiving. This is going to be me explaining why I ship Josh and Maya. I never really explained to anyone why I ship them. So now I'll explain.

DISCLAIMER: I'd like to clarify that while I get in a ranting mood here, I'm not trying to force anyone to ship Joshaya. This is just a topic I'm passionate about. For me, this is the best outlet to let out exactly how I feel about Joshaya. So please don't be offended by my words or feel like I'm forcing you to agree with me. I just wanted to point out why I love Joshaya and some moments/episodes that showed me why Joshaya is going to happen. This will be broken down into multiple sections so I apologize in advance for how long this is.

They look good together
A lot of people are like "oh Joshaya shippers only ship them because they look good together". Okay yes I'll admit they do look good together. But that's not the only reason I ship them.

Maya needs Josh to show her that not everyone leaves
Maya has not had an easy life. She got left by her dad and I know she worries that others will leave her too. She needs a guy who'll show her that he cares and won't leave. I believe that Josh is that guy.

Josh is really the most decent guy
Josh is a Matthews. Matthews are known to be loyal. Look at Cory and Shawn. All through BMW Cory has stayed by Shawn. Look at Riley and Maya. Riley does everything with Maya. She shows Maya that she is not going to leave. Josh is just like Cory and Riley. He's loyal. He's caring. He left the college party to make sure Riley and Maya got home safely. I know a lot of guys that would've just put them in a taxi and continued to party. Josh is not like that.

Their height difference is just so 😍 (for those with devices that don't see the emoji I used, it's an emoji with hearts as eyes)
Alright no hate here please but we've all noticed Maya is a bit on the short side. And Josh is taller. You gotta admit it's cute when a shorter girl is with a tall guy. I think it's cute that Maya would have to stand on her tip toes to kiss him.

Their deep conversations
Yes Josh hasn't been in a ton of episodes. But in the few that he's been in, he and Maya have deep conversations. Girl meets first date, Maya and Josh talk in the subway after he got rejected. She opened up about her dungeon of sadness. I don't know about what you're thinking but I'm thinking that Maya doesn't seem like the kind of girl that tells just anybody about that. And we all know about their conversation in girl meets ski lodge. They're good at talking to each other. That's important in a relationship.

She's not invisible to him
He knows who Maya is and notices her and she knows him. In girl meets the tell tale tot when Maya acted like she didn't care when Josh walked in, Josh noticed and was like "what happened to her?" This is also the episode when Maya showed Josh just how much she knows about him and that she likes him for him and it's not a crush. In girl meets ski lodge, he noticed that Maya was protecting Riley by becoming her. He may not have been in a lot of episodes but he's shown that he knows her well.

He doesn't let go of her hand right away
In girl meets bear, when he asked "who's all here" and Maya said "who do you most want to be here" from behind the door, did you see Josh be like "hey Maya" and leave her behind the door? NO. He walks over to her and grabs her hand to help her up. He smiles at her and confirms that they're still in the long game. He held her hand for a while after helping her up. He could've easily let go the second she got up. He didn't. In girl meets ski lodge, he held her hand the entire time he and Maya talked. He got flushed when he was asked why he didn't let go. Their hands joined felt so natural to Josh that he didn't even realize he didn't let go.
