the new guy// a brannie fanfiction (COMPLETE)

her brother opened the door. my heart started racing. i was unsure what the reason to this was because i did not have feelings for him, or do i? idek his name
"hi, are you here for katie?" he asked
"hi yep!" i said with a smile
"she's up in her bedroom unpacking."
"okay thanks!" i said as i took off my shoes and walked past her brother (i still don't know his name)
i found the steps and started to go up the large spiral staircase. i heard music playing from one room so i followed it. it was rap music but the only one up here was katie so i assumed it had to be her. when i approached the area with the music, i knocked, and walked in. there were 3 other guys in there!!this has to be her brothers room. i didn't realize he had friends over. they looked at me as if they had never seen a girl before.
"who are you?" a blonde one asked
"i'm annie" i said back "i'm guessing this is the wrong room?"
"depends on what room you're looking for" the brunette said while winking at me
i ignored that, and asked "where's katie's room?"
"dunno" the blonde said
"okay, thanks for the help" i said sarcastically
"anytime"
i turned a corner and looked into another room, no katie
the room beside it looked to be their parents bedroom and then finally i came to the door.
purples foam letters that spelled out KATIE
covered the middle of the white door, and a sign on a piece of paper saying "go away brennan and ryan"
okay now i know the boys name is either brennan or ryan
i knocked and walked in
"annie!!!" katie said as she hugged me, even though we just met today, we instantly clicked.
as i helped her unpack, we talked about all sorts of things. i decided to ask about the boys in her brothers room
"hey, so as i was finding your room, i took a wrong turn and i think i ended up in your brothers room" i started off my saying
"which brother?" katie asked
"not sure. the one our age." i said
"ohhh brennan. that's my twin!" she said
"that's so cool you have a twin!" i said "but anyway, i took a wrong turn and thought one room was your room bc i didn't think anyone else was up here and i heard music, so i ended up in a room full of guys and they were acting all weird!" i said laughing (it was a fake laugh)
"ohhh. those are brennan's new friends. he met them at water polo. they're kinda weird. why what'd they do to you?" she asked
"i was like "am i in the wrong room?" and one was like "depends on what room you're looking for" and winked at me!!
"what the heck??!" katie said surprised "that's creepy"
"i know right!"
we decided we'd go in the basement to hang out. surprise surprise, brennan and his friends were down there, i felt very awkward walking past them in gymnastics shorts, but luckily they never looked up from the video game they were playing. their basement is separated into two sections basically. one section is the tv room and the other is just a big open carpeted area. they weren't separated by any walls though. katie and i did gymnastics in the open carpet area. i was in the middle of a skill when one person whistled obnoxiously toward me. this made my face go beat red. i didn't know who did it. a couple minutes later they joined in with us and showed us their failed attempts of a cartwheel.
we all laughed and actually hung out for awhile. the more i looked at brennan the cuter he got. his laugh, his smile. i think i have feelings for  him. we were playing a game of pool when the blonde (who's name i found out is alex) pushed brennan into me. i thought that was a bit weird. stuff got consistent and the boys started acting weird around me. like inappropriate and dumb. they pushed each other into me and made me feel super uncomfortable. kyle (the brunette) came up to me and whispered in my ear "you like brennan don't you"
i gave him a thrown off look. i shook my head.
"why do you think that?" i said quietly back to him as we were playing pool
"idk i just thought so" he said laughing
was i giving obvious looks toward him? did he like me and the guys were bugging me about it? i honestly don't have a clue.
"guys did you hear about the new horror movie?! the one about the clowns! we should watch it!!" katie announced
oh no. i don't do well with scary things. being the shy person i am, i followed along with it. we made popcorn and brennan went to go make the popcorn.
"annie you should date brennan" alex says
thank god katie backed me on this
"she just met him today?" katie said
"so?" he said back
brennan came back downstairs
"sorry bro we tried" alex told him
my face got red again
"tried what?" brennan asked
"never mind" alex said
we watched the movie and afterward i had to leave. even though the boys were acting annoying (besides brennan) we still all got each others numbers. i hugged katie goodbye and told her i'd see her tomorrow. all the boys said bye too. i walked back to my house and went up to my bedroom. i stared into brennan's empty bedroom. the lights were still on. i then collapsed on my bed and fell asleep for awhile
