"hello? annie i know you're in there!!!"
i opened the stall
"sorry principal white..." my head hung down like i had no muscles in it whatsoever
i walked in silence as i followed him to his office. once we got there i threw myself into a chair, and tried to cover up the tears in my eyes. this was my first time in the principals
"Ms. Julianna Leblanc, what has gotten into you? i hear you've skipped class, and got into a fight earlier in the day."
"the fight was nothing physical" i assured him
"i'm aware. out of all your years here, you've never stepped a foot into my office. is something going on at home?"
i thought about luke. i thought about how my parents didn't know i was with him last night, i thought about the terrible trouble i'd get into
"no nothing's wrong"
"are you sure Julianna?"
"yes"
he looked at me like i should keep talking
"stuff has just been going on with my uhh, two guy friends"
"what seems to be the problem with them?"
he asked
"oh, i mean it sort of personal.... i-"
"you didn't seem like it was personal when you and luke were screaming at each other in the hall?" he came back
i didn't really know how to respond
"that got out of hand." i said
"well Julianna, i am going to have to suspend you for a day."
"WHAT?! suspend me?!??!??" i was now yelling. i could feel the office ladies staring me down. "THIS IS MY FIRST TIME DOING ANYTHING WRONG!"
"unless you can work everything out, and i don't hear one bad thing, then you won't be suspended. i am calling luke down now to see his side of the story, since you seem impossible to crack."
"okay fine" i rolled my eyes
i waited and waited, and about 5 minutes later luke arrived and sat next to me. i knew he was going to lie about everything.
"you gotta back me up" i whispered over to him
"why?"
"because i agreed to go to your house remember? and that's what got us into-" i was cut off by mr white asking luke what really happened.
"okay so basically, annie came over to my house the other night" luke started
great. just great.
"she didn't want to, but i guess i turned out pretty likable if you want to take a look on her neck"
"no that's really unnecessary" i said hiding the side of my neck
"but i mean i guess it was my fault anyway, i'm just too good looking. then we got into that fight bc apparently it annoyed her that i told everyone, i don't see the big deal. i guess she was just too embarrassed. i mean i would be too if i was h-"
"luke that is enough" mr white said "as for you Julianna, i don't know what to do. i won't suspend you, but must stay after school and clean the classrooms. same goes for you luke"
"fine" i said as i walked out and ran back to the bathroom
alone with luke? again?
