i looked toward the entrance, and there was luke. luke's my ex from last year and we were very very close. rumors even spread that we slept together. (those weren't true) but anyway, luke gets really jealous when i even come close to other guys. plus he's really tough, quarterback on the football team and a state champ in wrestling. brennan's tough and all, but not like luke. like could squash him like a bug. so what did i do? i panicked
"shoot" i said under my breath
"what?" brennan asked
"okay so you see the guy over there? white shirt and jeans?"
"yeah what about him?" brennan sounded nervous
i decided to open up
"well that's my ex, my first boyfriend. anyway he scares the crap out of me. i broke up with him bc he was so overprotective and powerful. but if he sees me with all you he'll flip. i don't want any of you to get hurt."
"what are you waiting for? hide under the table!!!" alex said
i was underneath watching what luke did. he kept looking over at the table. i prayed he didn't see me. soon enough he took at seat the the table next to us. NEXT TO US!! how was i supposed to smoothly crawl out and eat my food!!?? i texted brennan
a: he's right next to us!!
b: stay calm. everything will be okay
a: what should i do?
b: when he talks to the waiter to take his order, climb out
a: what if he sees me?
b: then he sees you. he may be tough but he'll be too chicken to fight anyone in a public place
a: okay you're right.
i look over, and the only person coming up to his table was liv. my ex bestfriend, aka my ex's girlfriend. together they basically hate my guts!! the waiter came over to their table. the ordered and i climbed back up. we continued our conversations, i saw luke and liv glance over here and whisper. i acted like i was having the best time of my life to be able to rub it into livs face. then i got a text
it was from luke...
l: wassup annie😘
i showed alex kyle and brennan. brennan took the phone and started to text back for me
a (brennan): back off luke
l: you don't own me? why don't you stop by tonight and we can watch netflix and do some chillin?😉
we all laughed at this, which made them stare.
a(brennan): NO!! you have a girlfriend.i don't want you anymore. what do i need to do to get that through your head??
l: you're coming over. whether you like it or not. ill make sure of it
"GUYS WHAT DO I DO?" i whispered/yelled
they could tell how scared i was of him
"sleep at our house tonight" brennan replied
"okay. ill ask my mom. he won't find me there."
i texted my mom
a: hey can i stay at katie's?
k (mom): sure!! stop by to get some clothes and your toothbrush though!💜
a: yay!! thanks you're the best!!
"i can!!" i squealed
we finished out food and headed home. on the way i stopped at my house to grab my stuff. i said goodbye to my parents and left with brennan and then to go back to katies
"so umm.. katie doesn't know you came with us.." brennan said surprisingly calmly
"she doesn't? will she be mad?"
"probably" he replied, still not phased
"well what do we do?! i don't want katie to hate me!!"
"well tell her we picked you up on the way bc we were super bored and thought it'd be nice if we picked you up for katie's sake."
"that'll work."
as we walked in the house, brennan yelled
"mom we're home!!"
katie's replied
"brennan moms not home." she looked up from her phone
"annie!!!" she ran to hug me "what are doing here?!"
"they came to pick me on their way home from pizza bc they saw how bored you looked and they were bored too" i said confidently and looked at brennan
"oh cool!" katie said back "well brennan mom and dad went to visit grandma because she is feeling sick. they will probably we out for like a day or two. so looks like we're home alone"
alex nudged brennan which brennan ignored
"wanna go in the basement and set up where we are sleeping?" i suggested
"yeah let's go"
we got up and headed to the basement. we got out the mattresses from the storage room and spread them out. katie and i were next to each other and then brennan alex and kyles mattresses were facing toward ours on the other side (if you don't know what i mean it's above)
we decided to watch a movie and make some popcorn (by this time it was 9:00)
then we played never have i ever...
it was brennan's turn to go first.
brennan: "never have i ever cheated on my girlfriend/boyfriend" he glances at kyle and kyle puts his finger down.
kyle: "never have i ever wanted to date someone in this room"
ugh i had to put my finger down, but i noticed brennan did too. we all did, everyone except for kyle. the only person that brennan could wanna date in the room is me i mean unless he's (my cat just jumped on my head😂 like for real -lyndsey) gay but i don't think that's the case. it got later and we decided to watch a movie. when the movie ended around 11 and we were all tired so we got in bed. i heard
"hey annie!" in a whisper
"who was that? i whispered back
i thought i was the only one awake
"it's brennan. come here"
i crawled over to his side and sat at the bottom of the mattress
"i need to tell you something." he said super anxiously
