                Winter Soldier
I still can't believe that I'm Jace's father. I should've known I was. Why does Hydra have to keep things like this away from me? Like knowing my own name wouldn't had hurt anything, or being a father. Just because I can't stay completely focused, doesn't mean they have to take him away.

I understand why Jace kept this away from me. Hydra wasn't going to make the same mistake twice. If they knew Jace has told me, they would kill him. I can't let them do that. I have to keep my promise to myself.

"What if Hydra knows that I told you?" Jace asked. "They're going to make you regret it, but I won't let them lay a finger on you. I promise." I answered, putting my hand on his shoulder.
"I don't want the same thing happen to you again because of me." He said. "That's not-well, Hydra might do it anyway. They seem to do it every time I get out of the cryo." I replied and regretted telling him that as soon as I said it.

"I remember you going into the cryo. It was the worst time. I would be all by myself. One time you were in it for a year. That was the worst year of my life." He said, looking down at his fractured wrist.

"Do you think I can still train with this?" Jace asked, changing the subject. "You should be able to." I answered.

Then Karpov and a few guards came into the room.

"Well, since the little shooting incident with Fury, we have to hurry up Jace's training. Now." Karpov said. One of the guards grabbed Jace's arm while the other two followed me with their guns ready. "Let's go." Karpov said.

We walked all the way to the training room. The guard pushed Jace down into a chair.

"Bring him in here." Karpov ordered the other guards. They brought in a guy with a terrified look spread across his face. I knew what they wanted me to do.

"Show Mr. Jace how to kill this man." Karpov demanded. I just stood there, staring down at the terrified man. "I said, show Mr. Jace how to kill the man." Karpov demanded again.

This time I obeyed. I kicked the man and punched his nose with my metal fist. I grabbed his arm, twisting it back. Then I heard a snap. The man let out a yell.

I kicked him in the gut again. And I picked him up by the neck, and slammed him against the wall. The man started to choke. Then I pulled out a gun, pointing it at his head.

I was fixing to pull the trigger when I saw Jace's face. He was terrified. He had tears in his eyes also. Was he crying?

He was looking at me like he had never did before. He was looking at me like I was a monster. It was true, though. I was a monster. I just didn't want Jace to see that side in me. Now he has.

I dropped the guy and tossed my gun onto the floor.

"Finish it." Karpov ordered. "No." I replied, looking down at my cold blooded hands.

"What did you say?" Karpov asked. "I said no!" I yelled.

"You don't raise your voice at me soldier!" He shouted. "You turned me into this monster. In front of my so-Jace. In front of Jace." I said, correcting myself.

"You were going to say son, weren't you? I knew the kid couldn't shut his mouth." Karpov said. "You know what's going to happen now." Karpov said to Jace. Jace looked even more terrified.

"Guards, bring the Winter Soldier to the wiping room." Karpov ordered.

No, not again. I can't let this happen again. But the next thing I know was that I was given a tranquilizer.

When I finally wake up, I realized I was strapped down into a chair.

Oh no. Its happening again. All because of me.

Jace was in a chair across the room.

"Jace." I whisper yelled. He looked up at me. He had a black eye. I broke my promise.

"Jace, you got to get out of here." I said, still whispering.

"I can't just leave you here." He replied with a raspy voice. He must've been screaming.

"Yes you can. Go." I said. "There going to wipe you again. I don't want to suffer like I did the first time." He said. Suffer?

"If you stay here, they're going to make you suffer. And if they kill you, I won't be able to live with myself, even if I don't remember you." I replied, making my tone more serious.

  "But, da-"

"That's an order, soldier." I said.
He nodded and left the room quietly.

"I'm so sorry, Jace." I said to myself.

"Not for long, you won't." Strucker said as he walked in the room. "Why can't you just let me be happy?" I asked through gritted teeth. "It'll just distract you from reality. We can't have that." He answered, putting his hand on the control panel.

"Go to hell." I said through all of my anger.

"Oh, and don't worry about Jace. We'll get him back." Strucker said with a smirk.

Then he just pressed the button. The metal plates came down on my face.

   Jace Barnes

   Jace Barnes

   Jace Barnes

   I was hit with pain.

   Jace Barnes

   Jace Bar-

   Jace

   Ja-

   Nothing.
