Jace
"Where did you go? You were gone for a long time." I asked while I was following Daddy around the weaponry room."I was in the cryo." He answered, inspecting one of his guns.
"Why were you in there for so long?" I asked. "I was unneeded." He replied as he put the gun back on the table.
"I needed you." I said quietly. Then he looked down at me. "Why?" He asked.
"They're not really nice around here. I had to do a lot of things that I didn't want to do. I really missed you." I said.
"I also got in trouble for actually wanting you back." I added. He squatted to get face to face with me. "I'm sorry you had to go through that." He said, putting his hand on my shoulder.
I wrapped my arms around him, burying my face into his shoulder. He put his arms around me, too.
"I love you." He said to me. "I love you, too." I replied.
I was standing out on a bridge outside of the warehouse, thinking about Bucky.
I wish he could be here with me right now. Giving me one of his 'life lectures'. I could really use it.
Then Captain Rogers joined me on the bridge.
"So, uh, how did you know Bucky?" He asked, looking out over the water.
"He trained me." I answered. The Captain nodded. "How long have you known him?" He asked.
"Pretty much my whole life." I said, debating rather if I should tell him the truth or not."I've known him my whole life, also." He replied.
"If it makes you feel any better, he sorta remembered you." I said, leaning over the edge of the bridge.
"What do you mean?" He asked, looking over at me.
"He had visions of you, a scrawny, blonde headed kid. He just didn't know who you were. Like, he didn't know your name, or anything else about you." I answered.
"He must've trusted you if he told you all this." He said.
"Yeah, I guess so." I said, looking back over the water.
We were both starring at it. He seemed to be in deep thought. Most likely about Bucky.
Then the man joined us. He got beside Captain Rogers and leaned over the side of the bridge also.
"He's gonna be there, you know." He said, talking about Bucky.
"I know." Captain Rogers answered.
"Look, whoever he used to be and the guy he is now, I don't think he's the kind you save. He's the kind you stop." The man said, looking at Captain Rogers.
He is the kind you save.
"I don't know if can do that." Captain Rogers replied, looking back at him.
"Well, he might not give you the choice. He doesn't remember you." The man said.
Captain Rogers looked over at me. "He will." He said.
"Gear up. It's time." Captain Rogers ordered both of us.
"Your going to wear that?" I asked.
"No," he answered. "If you're gonna fight a war, you got to wear a uniform." He finished.
"Where are we going to get a uniform?" I asked, following Captain Rogers off the bridge, along with the man.
"I know a place." He answered with a slight smile.
