Chapter 34: Speak of the devil...
"I don't believe Ron would do this...I know my brother is a jerk but I don't think he would sink down this low as to wanting Draco in Azkaban..." Ginny said. Harry nodded.
"Hey guys! What are you guys talking about?" A cheery voice greeted Ginny, Harry and Hermione.
"Speak of the devil..." Ginny muttered under her breath.
"Ron. Hi." Harry said awkwardly, scratching the back of his head.
Hermione had been quiet for a little while now and her head had been tilted down, until she heard Ron's voice.
"Ronald..." Hermione stood up and looked at Ron. Ron smiled.
"Did you tell the ministry that Draco kidnapped me?" Hermione asked, with a unreadable expression.
Ron couldn't tell if Hermione was really angry, or if she was just joking. His face twisted into a frown.
"What's that supposed to mean?" Ron asked.
"Stop playing dumb, brother. How could you?" Ginny said, eerily calm.
Ron looked confused at Ginny and Hermione's words. Ron looked at Harry for an explanation but Harry just shook his head.
"You're a good actor, Ron. Putting on that confused expression... just when you know how sick you actually are. First you cheat on Hermione, then you called her a whore, you totally insulted her an hour ago and I can't believe you would lie to the ministry to get Malfoy into Azkaban!" Harry said.
The three wore disappointed and angry expressions, while Ron's expression was somewhere in between curious and puzzled.
"What do you mean? I understand the cheating on Hermione thing but I don't ever remember calling Hermione a whore or even going to the ministry to lie about Malfoy..." Ron said, his eyebrows knitted together as if he was trying to solve the world's hardest math question.
Ginny looked at Ron in disgust.
"You know the truth." Hermione said as she walked away, leaving Harry, Ron and Ginny staring at the spot where she stood moments ago.
