Another new friend
Cara's POV
"Hey Sis, what's up?" Jake greeted me as he came up to me.
"I made two friends today, one of them is Amanda here," I pointed to Amanda, who was busy admiring my bike. "And I-"
"Let me guess, pissed off the famous bad boy of our school, Ryan Ashford. And got into a petty fight with Queen Bimbo, Mikayla."
"Damn it." I cursed.
"News spreads like wild fire mate. Drama will always reach the ears of everone." Jake told me.
At this very moment, Ryan walked to us. "What are you doing here?" He narrowed his eyes.
"Why do you care?" I retorted.
"You're in my way. I want to get to my bike." He said through his clenched teeth clearly annoyed.
"Hey hey! Back off dude. That's no way to talk to my sis." Jake said defensively.
"Excuse your stupid attitude. But we have to right to be here. You don't own the school grounds." I glared at him.
"My stupid attitude?" He asked.
"Yeah. If you haven't heard yourself, I suggest you record yourself." I rolled my eyes at him.
"You little-"
"Also, you could have just asked nicely, asshole. I wouldn't have said no," I cut him off. "What's so hard about saying please huh? Let me guess. Your big ass ego."
"I can act and say however I want. I will certainly not listen you to." He growled.
"Manda we're leaving. I'll see you tomorrow." I told her, ignoring Ryan. She nodded walking off to her car.
"I don't want to deal with this torn any longer." I said in a huff as I got onto my bike and sped off. He glared at my retreating figure as I got further away from him. Naturally, I gave him my favourite finger, not bothering to look back.
"That was Ryan wasn't it? He's such a jerk." Jake commented as we continued to ride home.
"No shit man! Earlier this morning he demanded that I move away just because I was in his 'favourite' seat." I told him, doing the quotation mark hand gesture.
"Cara hands on the handle bar!"
"Chill. I'm not going to lose my balance."
"You better hope not. The last time you went no hands, you almost rode off the cliff."
"Yeah yeah."

Soon after, we reached home.
"How was your first day of school?" My mom asked me.
"Eventful. Just the way I like it." I smiled.
"Good good. I want to see yourselves enjoying life here." She said.
"Thanks mom."
My mum has pretty much given up on the fact that I will never be a normal teenager who has raging hormone, and all the mushy feelings teens have. She gets at least two calls from either the pricipal or the teachers per week about me behaving 'inappropriately', in which they meant, talking back and insulting them.
"Dad, American high school life is the bomb! I'm going to join the football team. Going to earn myself a reputation." Jake told him.
"I'm glad to hear that son." He replied.
"Geez, you're such an attention seeker." I said, rolling my eyes.
"I'm going get all the girls." He said shamelessly.
"Yeah. Ok. Sure."
I can't believe he's actually related to me. He's a total embarrassment. We finished dinner and I went up to my room to finish up some homework. Half way through, I fell asleep as expected.
~
The next day, everything was pretty mundane until chemistry came. Yes. My favourite subject. Where I can blow up yet another lab. I can't wait.
I barged into the lab only 15 minutes late. At least that was better than literature where I missed half the class. And yes. I got lost.
"And you are?" Mr Sullven asked.
"Cara Jonson. New."
"And why are you late?"
"Got lost." I bluntly said with my back turned to him as i walked to an empty table.
"Next time don't be late."
"I can't guarantee that." I said as I dropped my bag to the floor.
"Alright, I have explained all the instructions to this experiment please start on it now. You have the rest of the lesson to complete it." Mr Sullven ordered.
Before I could even touch an apparatus, Mr Sullven stopped me.
"Cara, you will be partnering with Andy who's sitted at the back. He'll explain the steps and all." He told me as he guided me to this Andy.
Damn, Andy had this dangerous badass look. Something about him told me that no one would want to mess with him, that they were scared of him. That made me intrigued. He didn't have that douche look unlike that asshole. His dark, sharp features were definitely to die for.
"Cara?" Mr Sullven asked, causing me to break my train of thoughts.
"What?"
"This is Andy. He will be your lab partner from now on." He told me.
"Ok." I said, taking a seat next to Andy.
"Hi, " I started out.
"Hi." He replied.
"So... we're lab partners."
He chuckled. "Seems like it."
"I've done this experiment before. So I don't think I'll drag you down too much." I told him.
He nodded, passing me equipments.
"I'll prepare everything, while you do the hypothesis and predictions. Then you can just pop these test tubes in while I record the data. Is that alright?" He proposed.
"Yeah. That's cool. Let's begin."
The experiment went pretty well, other than the fact that we didn't talk a lot. Andy seemed like the type that kept to himself so I left that that way. I also didn't see the need to talk so. Although, I could sense him glancing at me a few times, and not to mention I did the same thing. I mean, come on, he's attractive.
Class ended, and I can say that Mr Sullven was pretty impressed that Andy and I didn't make any mistakes what so ever. Ha. In his face.
Amanda had some matters that needed her attention, so I was left alone for lunch. I scanned the cafeteria for an empty table, but to no avail. At the corner of my eye, I spotted Andy sitting alone, and I made my way to him.
Yas! So far maintaining the 1000+ word count.
Hope you enjoyed
