The worst or the best decision of my life
Cara's POV
"He what?!" Amanda exclaimed.
"Shhhhhh. Not so loud!" I hissed.
"Of course you're going to say yes! This is Ryan Ashford! Not many girls can even come close to talking to him!" She said. "Hell, I've never seen any girl being able to, until you came along."
I invited Amanda to hang out at my house. And mind you, it was Friday. 2 more days until i had to make my decision.
"I don't know what to expect. I've never gone on a date before. Dating sounds so fucking foreign." I muttered.
"That, we're on the same page. But, you can't give up on this opportunity! Get to know him better." She told me. "Trust me when I say you two are a good match."
"Ok ok, chill. I'm going to pee." I told her before heading to my bathroom.
Fuck. What am I going to do? Is it a good idea to let a guy get to close to me?
I splashed water at my face, trying to clear my mind.
~
"Oi! What do you think you're doing?" I shouted. Amanda was holding my phone, and when she heard me, she squeaked in surprise.
I snatched my phone from her hand and saw what she was doing. She was freaking calling Ryan! Not to mention, the phone was ringing.
"Hello?" Ryan answered. I immediately ended the call and threw my phone into the bed.
"What are you trying to do?!" I asked Amanda.
"Helping you." She whispered in fear.
Ring...ring...
"Oh my god, it's Ryan. Shit. What do I do?" I exclaimed.
"Answer it!"
"I haven't made my decision yet!"
"Just do it! It's worth the shot!" She said.
Ring...ring...
"Ok ok, this is so not me." I said hurriedly, as I picked up the phone.
"Hello?" Ryan greeted.
Fuck. I mouthed to her. Unfortunately, she didn't help by giving the thumbs up.
"Yeah hi." I awkwardly replied.
"You called just now?" He asked as I walked out of my room into the hallway.
"Yeah about that. Amanda did that."
"Oh. So? I'm assuming that was by accident?" He questioned.
"Yes! No! I mean-" I said.
"Ok? So do I put down the phone?" He asked.
"Wait, about the date thing," I started out. "I've been thinking."
"Oh."
"I have conditions-" I started out
"So is that a yes?" He asked eagerly.
"Idiot! Listen! I'm not done talking." I scolded him.
"Alright alright." He chuckled.
"No fancy shit, no sketchy areas and no alcohol related places." I listed.
"Ok..."
"There's more. No touching, no flirting and no inappropriate behaviour." I added. "And yes, I'm accepting your request."
"Really?!" He replied.
"Yes. Don't make me regret it." I warned him.
"Thank you for giving me this chance CJ. I won't let you down." He said. In the background, I could hear the shuffling of the feet.
"What days are you free?" He asked.
"Mondays and Thursdays." I replied.
"Ok cool, so Thursday?" He asked.
"I'm down with that." I said.
"Ok. I'll tell you the details soon." He told me.
"Ok." I told him.
"Bye."
"Bye."
And with that, I hung up the phone. For some reason, I ended up in the attic. Don't ask me why, but when I talk on the phone, I tend to migrate.
~
"So, how did it go?" Amanda asked.
"I've either made the worst or the best decision of my life." I told her. "I hope I don't regret it."
"So I'm taking that as a yes?" She asked
"Yeah it is." I replied.
She squealed and ran up to hug me. "Ok let's go shopping tomorrow for something nice to wear on your date!" She said excitedly.
"Why can't I wear what I have now?" I asked her, narrowing my eyes.
"Honey, I may be someone who most people don't really care about, but I'm certain you need a little pop of colour in your life." She told me.
"You're not someone whom no one cares about Manda. And what's wrong with my wardrobe?" I asked with a my arms folded across my chest.
She flung it open to reveal all the clothes I owned. "This is the problem." She gestured at my clothes. "All I see is black, navy blue and white. And too many band t-shirts." She pointed out.
"Those are nice colours alright. Other colours are eye sores to me." I said, pulling a disgusted face.
"Not to mention, you have zero dresses, zero skirts and zero rompers." She added.
"And it's going to stay that way." I told her.
"Why?" She asked.
"Those 3 do not go well with riding a bike, and they aren't appealing." I replied.
"You can drive." She stated.
"Ew. Yeah, no thanks." I said.
"Come onnnnn." She pestered.
"I'll think about it alright mate." I told her.
"That's not a yes." She said.
"Exactly." I smirked.
"Fine." She huffed.
~
The next day, Ryan called up to tell me the details. More like no details. Apparently it was a secret and all he asked me to do was to dress casual. He told me that he'd bring me out on thursday and that he'd pick me up at my house.
I gave him my address and started to wonder what he was planning. It was Halloween in a week's time, maybe it'll be something Halloween related. Or not. The last time I went somewhere Halloween related, it didn't end well. Not in the normal way of course. But oh well, I'll just have to see how it goes.
Hey guys! Thank you so much for the supports you'll have given to this book!
