Cara's POV

"Alright class! I'll be explaining a project you'll have to do over the next 3 weeks so listen up!" Mr Sullven barked.

"Isn't he a ball of sunshine today." I sarcastically remarked causing Andy to chuckle.

"You'll will be paired up to do this project, no choosing of partners, " Mr Sullven said. Groans filled the air.

"Suck it up pissholes!" I shouted.

Mr Sullven's lips formed a thin line but continued giving us the information anyways.

"The aim of the project is to create a healthy drink which contains at least 5 ingredients, " before he could finish, he was cut off by my loud laughter.

"Is there a problem Miss Jonson?" He glared at me.

"Yeah. This is the stupidest project I've ever heard of. How is it even related to chemistry?" I asked.

"I- good question, to be honest I'm not sure," he told me. "The principal said something about the number of teenagers with health issues in America are increasing rapidly and insisted that this project is to be done as a chemistry project." He continued, as the class starting talking among themselves.

"Mr Sullven, I think I might know how it's related to chemistry. Purification can be used to determine if a drink is beneficial for the people drinking the drink." A voice said from the front of the lab.

"Excellent Mike, that is a good point." Mr Sullven praised.

I rolled me eyes. Nerd. Just shut up and stop acting like a fucking know-it-all.

Mr Sullven finished giving the instructions and began to pair us up.

"Holland with Jonson." Mr called out.

I turned to Andy and grinned.

"Well, it looks like I'm stuck with you again." He rolled his eyes. I punched him in the shoulder, causing both of us to laugh.

"Alright, let's sort out when we're both free to meet up to discuss the project and actually make the damn drink." Andy said.

"I'm free on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays after school." I told him.

"Cool, I'm free on Mondays and Thursdays. So we'll meet then." He replied.

"I'll research on the ingredients and get them, you write the steps on how to make the drink and hypothesis. Then we can actually make the damn drink and do up the presentation together. Sounds good?" I asked.

"Wow, you have so much dominance, it scares me a little. But yeah I'm ok with the division of the workload."
He teased.

I blushed at his compliment and turned my face away.

Since when did I blush? Shit.

"Ok, since it's Thursday tomorrow, want to meet up for further discussion?" He asked.

"I'm down with that. Where do you want to go?" I asked.

"I was thinking maybe we could go to the diner we went to previously, discuss while eating dinner." He suggested

"Hell yes! The food there is amazing!" I exclaimed. "Other than that desperate waitress." I added.

"Yo, I'll pick you up at 6. What's your address?" Andy told me over the phone.

"You do know I can ride my own bike there right?"

"I'm trying to make you feel special here. Don't decline my offer." He joked.

"Haha. Very funny." I rolled me eyes.

"I can sense you rolling your eyes. Be ready by then, see you soon." Andy said.

"Yeah yeah." I replied lazily, hanging up the phone after giving him my address.

And truth be told. He arrived at 6 on the dot.

"Cara, there's a boy at the door wanting to see you." My mom called out to me from below.

I walked down the stair, only to find my mom talking to Andy.

"I'll be back by 9, we're doing a project." I informed her.

"Alright, have fun. Don't do anything stupid." She warned me.

"Of course mom." I assured her, rolling my eyes.

We got into the car and sped off.

"What did my mom talk about with you?" I asked curiously.

"Oh, nothing much. She just said that she was surprised that you didn't inform her about me. Then she mumbled something about you having too many guy friends." He said.

"Yeah, I had too many guy friends back in Australia and a single girl friend. She wants me to be more girly." I grumbled.

"I don't think that's going to change any sooner." He said.

"More like never." I added.

We reached the diner and thank god that waitress wasn't on duty.

We discussed the project and chatted after that.

"So let's do the 20 questions game. " I suggested.

"Alright, I'll get the ball rolling, " Andy said.

"Favourite colour?"

"Black."

"My turn, favourite band?"

"That's a tough one, but I'll go with pierce the veil."

"Hell yes! They're amazing!" I exclaimed.

"Your biggest strength?"

"Probably leadership?"

And so it went on, I found out that we had pretty similar tastes in music, food and fashion(obviously from the way we dress).

We walked out of the diner with our full bellies.

"Yo! Could you help us take a pic?" I called out to a stranger who was walking past us when we reached Andy's car.

"What are you doing?" Andy asked.

"Chill, I want to take a pic with all the friends I make here for memory sake."

The stranger agreed and we posed for the camera.

We did all sorts of poses, showing our carefree state. But my favourite was the one where we laid on the bonnet of his car with our head resting in our hands. Bright smiles were plastered on our faces.

Best memory so far.

Also, I think we irritated the person cause we wanted to take so many picture.

Well too bad. We got what we wanted.

About the chem project, I'm actually speaking from experience. Idk what my school was think but yeah. I still think it was rather irrelevant.

I search for people lying in car bonnets and Google gave me smashed up car bonnets...
