Common secret
Cara's POV
Jake swung punches at his opponent. Both newbies but Jake didn't fight like one. The crowd cheered as they watched on, I convinced many to bet on my brother and looks like they're pretty happy with it.
Jake did the move and sent his opponent crumbling to the ground. The crowd roared as he was crowned the champion. I smiled as I watched him get out of the ring from the dark corner.
Everyone in the street fighting community knew who I was. I was known as "Silent Storm" and today, I wore my signature ash grey mask. People would come up to me to talk but all they would get were gestures.
At the corner of my eye, I spotted someone familiar. He too was wearing a mask but I could recognise him anywhere. Ryan. And not only did he come, the whole gang too.
I went up to the sign up and found out that he had placed his name down. He wanted to fight Jake.
I ran up to Jake and signed to him about Ryan. Yes. We learnt sign language back in Australia. Thought it was fun to do so. Turns out it's pretty useful.
~
"Next up! We have Wolfgang and Beastmode!" The announcer shouted into the mic. How original names right? I told Jake to chose a better stage name. But no. He said Beastmode was the best for him. Ryan though.... Wolfgang.... seriously... that's Mozart's name...
"Beastmode is going to get beaten to pulp. Wolf has been undefeated for a very long time." Someone commented to the person beside me.
Both Ryan and Jake made their way to the ring. Jake made eye contact with me and I hurried to the ring.
"What a surprise! Silent Storm is present!" The announcer said as he gave way to me.
I signed to Jake to tell him to do the translation.
"I know sign language so I'll be translating what she says." Jake told Ryan.
Beastmode will not be fighting against Wolf.
"Why?" Ryan narrowed his eyes.
He's a newbie and he isn't prepared to fight against a seasoned fighter like you, asshole.
"Who gave you the power to decide who fights against who?" Ryan asked.
"Wolfgang. I know you haven't been around for a couple of months but Storm here has earned all of our respect, she's basically the Queen. And you certainly don't want to mess with her." The announcer told Ryan.
My decision is final. Find someone with the same level of experience to fight with.
Ryan granted in annoyance. "I'll be ready for you Beastmode. Better amp up your fighting skills." Ryan told Jake. "And you're next." He pointed to me.
I gave him a smile before hopping off with Jake trailing behind.
Another fighter volunteered and Jake and I snuck into the dark corner to watch. Ryan was good. He killed the match and left his opponent in a bloody mess. We left before anyone could ask us questions.
~
"Good job bro! I'm so proud of you!" I congratulated as we rode out bikes of the block.
"Thanks sis. I must say that your training did pay off." Jake replied.
"I require a part of your winning thank you very much." I said. "How much did you get?"
"1 grand. 20%?" Jake asked.
