"You just married?" The guy asked, giving Zoe a surprised look.
Zoe frowned. "Yeah, I thought that was a normal thing?" Zoe said, making it sound like a question.
The guy nodded. "Yes, marrying is a very normal thing, but appearing at McDonalds in a wedding dress isn't something we see every day."
Zoe chuckled. "Well, now you've seen it."
The guy didn't say anything. He just handed us our order and we sat at a table, joining Dylan. Dylan grinned widely and wasted no time in getting his nasty hands on his food. He took a bite of his burger and moaned lowly. I raised my eyebrow at him and he did the same when he saw my expression.
"What? It's been months since I had my last McDonalds. Can't a guy enjoy?" he rolled his eyes.
"You going to eat this?" Zoe asked as she pointed at my fries.
"No, Zoe, I'm going to transform them into potatoes again with the superpowers that I haven't discovered yet." I said sarcastically, taking a fry in my hand.
Zoe rolled her eyes, but didn't say anything. She continued eating her food silently, not even acknowledging mine and Dylan's existence. I shrugged and continued eating my fries.
I knew people were watching us because yes, not everyday you get to see a bride and a groom ordering food at McDonalds right after their marriage.
"You know, leaving Blaze with Zachariah was a bad idea. If your kid starts shooting people at the age of four, and you end up dying by the hands of Zoe, I'm packing my bags." Dylan sipped his coke.
"Zachariah is not that bad with kids. Besides, if he makes one mistake, I will murder him and he knows he can't get away with it." I said. "And it's just for today. Zachariah will be leaving tomorrow anyways."
Dylan didn't say anything, he just nodded. We silently ate our food and left after finishing. I drove to Zachariah's, because just like Dylan, I did not trust him.
"She's silent for a one-year-old." Zachariah handed Blaze over to me.
I smiled at her and kissed her forehead. "Thanks." I nodded at Zachariah and walked back to the car.
I got in the car and there Zoe took Blaze in her arms. I smiled to myself. These two had changed my life completely. I went from killing people to having a decent job. Even Zoe had her job and we managed everything perfectly.
Suddenly I heard a loud sound and I looked at Dylan who was yawning like a fucking grizzly bear in the backseat. Once he was done with his demon moment, he smiled smugly to himself, making me frown in confusion.
How does this fucker's brain even function?
I started the car, rolling my eyes at Dylan's stupidity. Even though this idiot was an idiot, he still was important in our lives. He may not know it, but he did a lot, and that is something I will never tell him. I don't want him to get all cocky.
"So, when are you guys getting that new house?" Dylan asked.
"We're still saving up. We'll have it within a year." Zoe said as she tickled Blaze, making her giggle.
After that it got silent again and I savoured the moment Dylan's mouth was shut.
Ah, how I love the sound of silence.
