Frisk hurries out of the royal tent, joyful and a little nervous about their new position as Ambassador. At first, they were more hesitant to take it, worrying over how they could possibly explain the monster's kindness to a bunch of adult humans who most likely were prejudiced against the monsters. But then they remembered all their friends who would be by their side, and they knew somehow they could do it.

They walk quickly around the camp, searching for a certain cute monster and an even cuter human. Many stopped to congratulate them along the way. Apparently word travels quickly in this small kingdom. They stopped by the place where they left Chara on the cliff, but there was no sign of either of them. They checked around the camp, the square where they all danced last night, everywhere. Finally, they decided to visit the oasis.

It took them a little longer to find it, since they had accidentally stumbled on it last night and it had be dark then. Soon however they started to recognize a few sights. They came upon the little pond eventually and found the two people they had been looking for. Frisk emerged from the trees with a large smile on their face, but it fell once they got a good look at the scene before them.

Chara was being held by Asriel. Their shoulders were shaking and they were silent as Azzy slowly rubbed their back. They were mumbling incoherently and breathing in short, panicked bursts. Tears stained Chara's blotchy face and their eyes were half closed and swollen. They leaned on Asriel like they would collapse if he wasn't there.

Frisk walked out of the woods hesitantly. They wanted to run to Chara, hug them close and wipe their tears, but they weren't sure how to react. Ever since the two of them had been revived it was Asriel Chara went to when they felt upset. Frisk wanted to care for them, love them, but they were afraid of making it worse. But when Chara spotted them they flashed Frisk a weak smile, telling them it was alright.

Frisk hurried over and placed a hand on Chara's knee, sitting on the grass below and looking up at them. "Chara? What's wrong?"

They tried to speak, but just shook their head. Asriel sighed, then answered for them. "They had a nightmare last night. Back in the Underground they would sometimes get panic attacks because of their nightmares. Usually it's not too bad when they first wake up because they haven't quite processed it, but later on it'll sometimes hit them really hard."

Chara nodded, looking down and hiding their face with their hair. They were still trembling, but the worst seemed to have past.

Frisk reached up and gently brushed their cheek. They didn't say anything, but hoped Chara knew they were here for them. Chara sighed softly, leaning into Frisk's touch. They took a few minutes to compose themselves, holding tightly to Frisk's and Asriel's hands, but after a while they looked up and flashed a small smile.

"Thank you," they whispered.

Asriel grinned and wrapped them in a big hug. "We're always here for you Chara."

Frisk nodded and hugged their other side.

Chara's eyes teared up a little with gratitude. "I love you guys."

Before Chara could say anything else they heard another set of footsteps coming from the woods. Soon Toriel emerged from the trees, a small smile on her face. Chara hurriedly wiped their eyes, but Toriel didn't seem to notice.

"My children, would you please come back to the camp with me? Asgore has an announcement he would like to make to everyone at once."

"Of course, Mom." Asriel stood up and pulled Chara up gently with him. Frisk followed them and they all headed back to the camp.

When they got back everyone was stood standing around the middle of the camp where the bonfire was the night before. Asgore stood in front, looking very serious but also hopeful. When he caught sight of his family he smiled wide as they made their way through the crowd. Once everyone was settled he cleared his throat and began.

"Monsters, and humans," He nodded to Chara and Frisk, " I am very pleased to announce that we now have our first monster-human ambassador. Frisk, would you please step forward."

Frisk did as they were told, blushing slightly but smiling.

Asgore smiled reassuringly at them and continued. "Frisk has gratefully accepted the position. Now we have someone to speak our defense and to witness the destroying of the barrier. They will stand side by side with me as we make our way down the mountain, speaking with the human villages nearby. A few of us will go and access the situation. We are still unsure of how the humans will react and we do not want to put anyone in danger. For now though, let us be optimistic. We will meet with the humans and hopefully soon be able to live peacefully among them. These next few days will be historic."

Asgore concluded his speech and everybody applauded him. Frisk was still a bit nervous, but they were also happy. They felt the monsters' excitement, how ready they were to go out and explore the world, and they knew that they would do anything to help them reach that goal.
