AN: I'm sorry guys! School's been hard this week and I'm working on an application right now that's taking up a lot of my time.
I think once a week is the best I can do right now, I hope y'all understand.
Now, unto the chapter!

Chara walked over to Sans. Surprisingly, he didn't seem to notice them until they were almost right beside him.
"Heya kid, what's up?" He asked distractedly.
They shrugged and sat next to him. "What's going on with everyone? What's wrong with mom?"
He was silent for a minute, then turned to study them. "I think something, whether it be all the excitement from yesterday or something else, happened to give many people nightmares. No one remembers what they were about, but they must have been pretty bad."
"Do you remember, Sans?" Chara asked.
He sighed, then stood up abruptly. "I see Paps over there, I need to check on him."
"O-Of course. Thank you, Sans."
He grinned but it was tinged with worry. "No problem kid."
He walked away back to the tents, but Chara stayed, thinking.

Dreams are tricky thoughts. Sometimes the give you pretty lies, false hope, a twisted since of reality. But they also give you harsh truths, memories you'd rather forget. And sometimes, blissfully, no dreams come at all.
Frisk woke to cold blankets and the sense that something was missing. They sat up and realized that they were alone in the tent. They must have been like that for a long time, for the places where Asriel and Chara had slept held no trace of them.
They sleepily got out of bed and walked to the opening in their tent. The looked out. Most of the monsters were awake by now. Some were milling around, chatting and laughing. Others were discussing, it seemed, the plan for introducing themselves to the humans. Though the scene looked pretty, Frisk couldn't help but note the particular tense air. It felt like everyone was holding their breath and wouldn't let it go. They puzzled about it, but figured it to be from the stress of wondering how the humans would take their return.
They walked out and their eyes immediately went to Chara. They were sitting at the edge of the cliff, staring up at the sky. Frisk hurried over and sneaked behind them.
"Boo!" they shouted, then giggled. Chara jumped a little, but they weren't nearly as scared as Frisk had hoped they'd be.
"Good morning, Frisk. Sleep well?" They asked with a look of concern that had Frisk slightly worried.
They tried to reassure Chara with a big smile. "Of course! Especially as you as my personal teddy bear." They hugged Chara from behind, and Chara squeezed their hands.
"That's- that's really great Frisk. I'm happy to be your teddy bear."
Frisk giggled and kissed Chara's cheek. "I'm gonna go find something to eat. You okay out here?"
Chara nodded. "Yeah, just. . . .thinking."
Frisk gave them another squeeze, then hopped up in search of food.

After a hearty meal of Papyrus's leftover spaghetti, Frisk ran into Toriel. She seemed stressed, like many of the monsters, and also a little shocked. But she gave Frisk a warm smile and hug when they met.
"My child I am glad to see you! Asgore and I wanted to talk to you, would you mind coming with me?"
Frisk hesitated, looking bak towards the cliff where they left Chara. Out of the corner of their eye they saw Asriel walk up and sit beside them. Frisk smiled, and replied "Sure!"
Toriel smiled again and led Frisk to the largest tent. Inside their was a meeting table set up and Asgore sat at the head. He grinned at the child and gestured for them to sit. They sat right beside him and fidgeted with their hands, suddenly nervous in front of the King of monsters.
Asgore saw the action, and gently placed a hand on top of their two. "No need to be nervous child. I simply have a favor to ask of you, a job if you so choose."
Frisk gulped. "What is it?"
Asgore glanced at Toriel, and she smiled softly at him. He took a deep breath. "Would you like to be our human ambassador? I know it seems like a big job, but I assure you that all you would have to do is tell your story. Stand with us, help us prove that we deserve to live on the surface just like them."
Frisk was speechless. They couldn't believe that he would intrust such an important job to them. After processing this, and wondering to themselves if they might mess up and hurt the monsters cause, they took a deep breath.
"Okay, I will."
Asgore smiled gratefully. "Thank you Frisk. Do not worry, I would not give you this job if I didn't think you could handle it. I will help you in all the ways that I can, but I know you'll be an amazing ambassador."
"Thank you," They sighed, relieved. "May I go and find Chara and Asriel to tell them?"
Asgore chuckled and Toriel nodded. "Go ahead my child."
