"We were young," Dan whispered, more to himself than Burkin. Burkin looked at him as he sat down across from Dan.

"Mr. Howell--"

"Please," Dan whispered again as tears were brought to his eyes. Burkin looked up at him and sighed. Dan blinked, tears rolling down his pale cheeks.

"I didn't think anything would happen," Dan said, being honest. "I didn't think I'd be there when it did happen." Dan cried now, tears rolled down his face as the image he thought he remembered was clear in his mind. "I didn't want this to happen."
