Phil sighed as he stepped off the train, Dan following in suit. The two looked at one another and smiled. Phil motioned for him to follow and Dan nodded, grabbing his bags by his feet and following his boyfriend.

"Philip! Sweetie!" Phil smiled at his mothers voice and spotted her amongst the crowd of people. He gripped Dan's arm and pulled him along.

"Mum," Phil grinned as he let go of Dan and hugged his mother. His mother hugged him back and smiled.

"I missed you," his mum said to her youngest son. Phil patted her back and pulled away. She sniffled, having tears running down her face.

"Mum! It's okay, I'm home now." Phil gripped her shoulders. She nodded.

"I'm just being silly," she sniffled. "And who's this?" she turned to Dan, who was standing on the side, a smile on his face.

"Mum, this is Dan." Phil introduced him and Dan stuck his hand out. Phil's mum ignored that and hugged him instead. Dan was taken by surprise and he laughed against the older woman.

"It's so nice to meet you, Daniel." Phil's mum said happily. They pulled away and she wiped her tears again.

"This is all so exciting. My baby is home, and he brought his friend." she cooed and Dan's heart broke a little, wishing he could correct her to tell her they were more than friends.

---

"Your dad has got the den a mess!" Phil's mum complained as she did a tour of the house for Dan. The couple wasn't staying long because they had decided on getting their own place just outside of Manchester for the summer months and maybe more.

They were excited to start this new and exciting chapter of their lives. A year ago Dan had never even kissed a boy and now he was going to be living with one he loved. Dan suggested the idea and Phil agreed after some thought on it.

"Same as always, right?" Phil's voice was what pulled Dan back from daydreaming. Mrs. Lester nodded, laughing a bit to herself and continuing on. Phil grinned down at Dan and walked forward after his mother. Dan walked along him and looked around at everything.

They passed baby pictures of Phil on the wall and Dan cooed, smiling at the pictures. Phil didn't noticed he stopped in the middle of the hall and he turned around expecting his boyfriend but got nothing. Phil looked and saw him staring at the photos.

"Dan!" Phil called and Dan left his spot, going to his boyfriend and following along.

---

"Homosexuals are wrong," Dan's eyes averted from Phil to his plate when Phil's dad brought up the topic. "And I just found out that Gary, from the book shop is a homosexual."

Phil's mum took a sip of her wine, chewing her food. "Oh really?" She asked, looking at her husband. Mr. Lester nodded, drinking his beer and Dan cut his chicken into small pieces.

He wanted to leave.

"Maybe we should speak of this topic another time, father." Phil suggested and his dad shook his head.

"Son, let me finish." his dad spoke and Phil nodded, obeying his fathers words. "The concept of two men is just--"

"Ridiculous?" Martyn, Phil's other brother, finished for him. His dad nodded and rambled on about gays.

"They will forever be sinning until they are cured with the treatment."

"Treatment?" Dan spoke up. Phil's father looked in his direction, almost forgetting Phil even had a guest over.

"The pills to turn them back to being normal." His father informed and Dan nodded, taking in a shaky breath and going back to eating. He didn't even want to imagine what those pills would make him feel like. He tuned them out the rest of dinner and didn't notice Phil's concerned looks.

When it came down to sleeping arrangements, the decision was made that Dan would sleep on the floor in Phil's bedroom. Dan was so used to sleeping IN Phil's bed he almost forgot where they were.

Dan sighed once he got under his sheets on the floor and he closed his eyes. He heard shuffling and then felt a body laying next to him.

"Hey," Phil whispered into the dark and Dan shifted, facing him.

"Hi," Dan smiled and Phil leaned over, kissing him. Dan kissed him back and smiled against him.

"I can't wait to get out of here," Dan whispered and Phil nodded, agreeing.

"I love you,"

"I love you more."
