Chapter XVII - Ameliorate

[Phil&Lucas flat, Central London, 3:22 pm, S 03/11/16]

DAN: (banging on bathroom door) "Phil, hurry up, I'm going to miss my appointment."

PHIL: (a few minutes later, opens bathroom door, wearing approximately four towels, almost walks into dan, wasn't expecting him to be there) "What time is it?"

DAN: (obviously distracted, looking anywhere but phil) "Half three."

PHIL: "Oh," (heading towards his bedroom to get dressed) "we have ages."

DAN: (following him, standing in his bedroom doorway) "No, we don't, you take a fucking year to put on your clothes."

PHIL: (shaking his head, closing the door in dan's face) "You swear too excessively."

DAN: (through the door, smiling) "Holy fuck, I'm so sorry."

[Westfield Shopping Centre, Central London, 4:06 pm, S 03/11/16]

PHIL: (walking into the barbers together) "See, I told you we wouldn't be late."

DAN: (watching him fondly) "We are, though."

PHIL: "Hardly."

TINA: (lady at the desk, watching them approach) "Dan and Phil Lester?"

PHIL: (nods, giving her an angel smile) "Sorry, for being a few minutes late, we got caught up in--"

TINA: (interrupting, waves her hand, obviously interprets the excuse differently) "It's alright, no big deal." 

PHIL: (finishes his sentence quietly, tina doesn't hear him) "Traffic."

TINA: (doesn't know which of them is dan and which is phil, points to one of the barbers) "Dan is with him, but Phil will have to wait for a few minutes."

DAN: (starting to walk where tina pointed) "Okay."

PHIL: (grabs his arm, turns his around) "Wait we need to take a before and after picture."

DAN: (about to refuse, but sees how happy phil is and goes along with it) "Alright, whip out your phone." (gives an overly cheesy smile as phil takes the picture) "I'm going now."

PHIL: (goes to sit down while he waits) "Good luck."

JOSH: "Hey, Dan, right?" (sits dan down in chair in front of mirror, and fits black cape around his neck) "You good?"

DAN: "Yeah."

JOSH: "Right, what would you like?"

DAN: "Well," (points to phil) "More like that."

PHIL: (walking over to dan, who is scrolling through twitter while he waits) "Hey, I'm done."

DAN: (looks up eyes analysing phil's hair for a few moments) "Nice."

PHIL: "Your sides are so short."
