Pain.

It's all I feel. From my feet where the thorns and splinters from the nature around me mangled me, to my knees that are bruised and raw from landing on them when I tripped. My shoulder from hitting trees full force, but mostly to my eyes. I can barely see anything through the blood in them and the sharp stinging becomes unbearable. It also doesn't help that they were practically gouged out by Father.

I couldn't say I was surprised though, this was a long time coming. It was the epic finale to my time in that 'pack', and it all started with a plan. A plan to escape; not just from anywhere, but from my own personal hell. I had waited years and years for someone to save me, then one night a couple months ago it hit me, like a sudden burst of wind, that no one was coming, and thats when my rage first started to bubble up. I was angry because I was given a life, a life filled with opportunities that I never got and experiences I never had.

I should have grown up with a mom and dad who cherished me. A brother who I argued and laughed with. All of us always with pink cheeks and bright eyes with a permanent smile etched on our face. But this was reality. Me running through the woods leaving my dead pack to rot into the ground where I was raised. The ground that held my blood, sweat, and tears, and now theirs too.

I was knocked out of my thoughts when I hit another tree with my shoulder and fell. However after doing this for I don't know how long I took a firm grip onto the bark of the tree and picked my tired body up and continued running.

I ran for hours, maybe days until I heard a growl. I stopped and turned around and came face to face with a wolf, although since I couldn't see clearly I was hoping it was a coyote. However, by its smell, I could tell it was a wolf, and a pack warrior at that. The familiar sound of bones cracking and a small groan indicated them shifting caught my attention and I prepared myself for a questioning.

"What happened to you rogue?" from the voice I could tell it was a female and could hear the crunch of the leaves under her feet indicating she was stepping closer. I refused to speak only back up for every step she took. "You stepped on Ornus pack territory so you have to come with me and face punishment." Her authorative voice standing out through the dead silent night with my gasping breath making the only noise. It seemed even the bugs in the brush were curious how I would get out of this.

I continue to back up till I hit a hard object. I use my hands to feel what it is and find it to be the rough bark of a tree. I don't know what came over me, maybe it was a last ditch effort to keep me alive, or maybe all the times I could have defended myself but didn't came back to me because in that moment, I shifted. I turned into my wolf and growled a warning at her, snapping my teeth. I could feel the energy leaving me after I shifted but I couldn't focus on that.

This seemed to enrage her, "Shift back now." She spits out distaste clearly in her tone. I in return give her a louder growl. I could feel my muscles tremble as I tried to keep my body up.

"Listen here rogue-" she stops mid-sentence as I fall to the ground. The exhaustion from running for miles and then stopping hitting me hard as I then fell to my stomach scraping it against the dirt.

"Get up!" The warrior shouts. I assume she notices that I am not listening to her as I hear her step closer and feel a hard kick fall to my hind leg making me groan in pain. I feel myself shift unconsciously adding to the already imense pain I was currently in. "Get up rogue!" I grit my teeth at her calling me a rogue and use all my energy to grit out my possibly last words because from the way I feel currently I might actually die.

I take a deep breath and use all my energy to make my statement as clear and loud as possible.

"Fuck. You."

Instantly afterwards falling and letting blackness consume me.
