As I'm walking aimlessly down the hallways I look over to see a mirror and am startled by my appearance. My tan skin holding white marks from when the injuries were a little to deep, my left eye its usual bright gold that I never knew who I inherited it from and my right eye hidden away by my dark, curly locks of hair. I reach up to push my hair back, to see my right eye, I look at myself one last time savoring the image, before pushing my hair away.
Tears threaten to slip as I look at my eye. My eye, the eyes that were the only constant in my life are ruined. My right eye is no longer the bright gold it was before but a cloudy white. It lost all its color leaving me with a reminder of that day, a colorless reminder of the blood that was on my hands that night.
I feel tears puddle in my eyes, as memories of the people that I knew my whole life lied on the ground, dead, as their blood drenched my clothes and warmed my body, I remember seeing the survivors of my rampage, a handful of woman that were too scared to fight me seeing the consequences lying on the ground, dead, sheltering children from the gruesome fight between me and my father as one of the kids looked at me with wide, tear filled eyes. I shake my head of the memories. This is the past and that is all. It doesn't define who I am, only I do. I am greater than this.
I clench my eyes tightly and look away from the mirror, feeling the tears retreat as I continue my walk.
I spot a blonde woman walking down the hallway as well, she has dark eyes with high cheekbones and a crooked nose as if it was broken many times, however even after that it seems to make her more beautiful. When she sees me she stops dead in her tracks.
She growls and looks at me with disdain, "Long time no see rogue.
She looked familiar but I couldn't put my finger on it till she had spoken.
"Aren't you the warrior that brought me in?"
"Yes, I was hoping they had killed you but I guess dreams don't come true." She responds while scowling.
I scowled back, "Well no need to be rude I was just taking a stroll that night when you just so happened to rudely interrupt it." I state crossing my arms across my chest. She definitely is not helping my mood currently. First Killian and now her, I need to speak to those oracles and find out if they can move this along cause I dont think I'll be able to survive the people of this pack if they're like this.
"Oh so do you usually take strolls bruised, injured, and covered in blood?" she says in a condescending tone interrupting my thoughts.
I smile sweetly, "Only on sundays."
I caught a small smile form on her face before she quickly masked it, "So what are you doing waltzing around the hallways?" She mimics my movements crossing her arms over her chest.
"I got into an argument with your Alpha, stormed off, and now I'm lost."
"So I guess he chose Olivia over his mate then?" She asks raising an eyebrow while smirking.
"What? I don't know what you're talking about." I say shifting on my feet from nervousness. I'm not going to be the one to let it slip we're mates. Even if I am mad at Killian, I'd rather keep my head.
"It's ok, I already know you and Alpha Elbrus are mates, I was guarding in the cells when you first met and I overheard him tell Peter." She shrugs.
I look away from her, "Well then you guessed right." I look back at her to see her about to say something but I beat her to it, "and I trust you will not mention our...situation at all?" She looks hesitant but nods.
I'm about to explain the situation more before her expression turns dazed and her eyes turn foggy. Mindlink. After a few minutes she looks back at me, "Come on the Alpha wants me to show you to your room."
Room? I'm silently cheering, the smell of blood and silver was too reminding of the past, I wouldn't be able to keep sane down there. I give her a nod and she turns making me follow her.
"So are you going to tell me your name or do you prefer rogue?" She asks glancing at me as she takes me deeper through the house down winding hallways.
My eyes flicker at that word, "Everest."
"Like the mountain?" She enquires.
"I guess so. What's your name?" I ask glancing at her every so often.
"Catherine Snow." She turns left down a hallway and stops at a grand white door as she points to it, "This is your room," she points to a door on my right making me have to turn my head fully to see, "this is the Alpha's." I look at her with a face of pure annoyance.
She chooses to ignore the look questioning me further, "So just Everest, no last name?"
"I have one, I just don't acknowledge the people it came from."
"Hmm." she must have seen my face and saw I didn't want to discuss it further since she changed the subject. "I will send someone up to bring you dinner since you seem in a mood not fit for meeting a pack." She is about to leave but turns around and gives me a serious expression, "Just so you know- and don't quote me on this- you were born to be Luna so be a Luna and don't go down without a fight. This is your rightful place, and nobody can take that away," she looks up and down the hallway and gives me a serious look whispering, "not even Olivia. I love the girl but love doesn't hide suspicions." She says vaguely before turning around and starting to walk away leaving my confused figure in front of my door.
Did she mean that I should be suspicious of Olivia? I mean Elbrus loves her enough to lose me so that in itself is something suspicious. Everything I ever dreamed of is going to be forgotten because of this mystery woman named Olivia.
My fingers brush the metal knob of my door as I look at Catherine's retreating figure turn down a hallway disappearing. I place my head against the cool wood, "I guess you're right, dreams really don't come true." I whisper shaking my head of the thoughts filling it and enter my room.
