"Everest haven't I told you to stop crying!" He yells grabbing my hair and digging his fingers into my face trying to force my mouth shut, my teeth clamping down painfully.
"This is why your brother left, because you never stop crying." he spits out.
"What do you mean left? Where is he, what did you do?" I say firing questions at my father in a panic clutching his shirt as his nails dig into my arms trying to pry me off.
"Jayden left. I found a note saying some bullshit about him being scared and him coming back for you. Isn't that pathetic I'm glad he's gone he wouldn't have been fit for my role he actually cared about you, but obviously not enough since he left you here to rot. Don't worry though, well find someone to replace him." He smirks successfully pulling me off and shoving me back on the ground.
I start to sob. Jayden left me. He left me with this monster and for what? "If you don't stop crying I'm going to put you back in the cell." I tried to stop but couldn't. Did he even care about me or was it all just a lie? All these thoughts go through my head as my father drags me outside with a bruising grip on my wrist to the underground cell.
"I tried to warn you, emotions and feelings get you nowhere. Now look at where you are if you could only just stop crying you could have been able to sleep in your room tonight." He throws me into the hole as I fall painfully on my back, the wind being knocked out of me. I look up at the entrance of the dungeon as the sun shines a light around my fathers head, as if he was a saint. How ironic Lucifer himself a saint, I suddenly gather my thoughts and start to shout at him, "No! Let me out I'll stop crying I'll stop feeling, just please!" I beg.
"Too late." He says as he spits into the cell, feeling it fall on my leg.
"I'll stop! I'll stop!" I scream as he shuts the hatch with a bang.
I wake up immediately covered in sweat with my clothes sticking to me. I always hated that nightmare. I look next to me and check the time on my clock 11:49 a.m.
I'm startled for a second not recognizing the baby blue walls and white furniture surrounding me, but my memories come back as I ease myself back into the comfy bed. I never really had a proper room but even I can say that this room was grand. It had a blue and white theme throughout the room with a walk in closet only holding a select amount of clothes, that seemed to be taken from girls in the pack for me to use. There was a beautiful bathroom too with marble everywhere. And I lay on an amazingly comfortable bed before I realize something strange. Elbrus, I could smell him vividly, like I was wearing his clothes or something but he was no where in sight. I shake my head from my ridiculous thoughts and lay inhaling the scent.
I get up after appreciating my temporary room and take a shower then put on a random white t-shirt dress that was in the closet. There seemed to be no shoes for me so I guess I would have to be barefoot.
I listen downstairs and hear bustling, confirming that the pack is currently having lunch. I debate whether or not to go downstairs, I mean will the pack greet me with smiles or snarls. I shake my head of the thoughts and move my hair to cover my eye. I go downstairs trying to avoid the roaming peoples curious eyes and enter the dining room.
Its very homey with the different shapes and sizes of tables and chairs. I spot Elbrus and Adam at a table at the back of the room discussing something but immediately stopping and look my way. Then do I notice that all conversations have seemed to stop immediately as I enter and a strong sense of malice sits in everyone's eyes. It seems they don't like rogues.
My neutral mood immediately darkens as everyone's emotions toward me finally take affect on me. I turn to the kitchen counter and am greeted by a teenage girl with mocha skin and dark almond eyes she immediately looks down and abruptly reaches her hand out, I flinch from the sudden movement but then realize in her hand is a sandwich. I give a small smile at her nervousness and take the snack, "Thanks-um?"
"Madison." She mutters finally looking at me.
"Thanks Madison." I give her a wink trying to lighten the mood and making her form a small smile of amusement and turn to the rest of the pack in the dining hall. I raise an eyebrow and make a show of chewing my sandwich staring at every person as I chew watching as they look away awkwardly. I feel someone tap my shoulder and turn to see a green eyed brown haired bombshell. I'm visibly shocked by her beauty but knock out of it when I realize she's attempting to hand me a glass of orange juice. What is with people giving me food do I have stray dog written on my forehead. I look into her eyes trying to find a hint of malice but all I see is warmth.
I accept the juice from her with a small smile as she mimics it, "Hi, I see you've met Madison she's shy but opens up when you get to know her." She says as she gives her a small smile that Madison mimics but it looks forceful. I turn back to the woman with suspicions on high.
I can feel the awkward silence creeping into the conversation so I look for something to talk about then noticing she's fidgeting with a small purple stone necklace around her neck that was in the shape of a heart, "That necklace is beautiful." I compliment. She looks down at it in surprise," Oh this, thank you I made it myself." She smiles proudly down at it before looking back at me, "By the way I'm sorry for the rude welcome from my pack members, they just don't like rogues, because of the past-"
"I'm not a rogue." I say interrupting her.
"Oh sorry you just smell like one I just assumed-"
"You assumed wrong." I say defensively, a flash of irritation goes through her eyes but disappears instantly.
"I guess I did, anyway my name is-" just as she was about to tell me Adam and Killian come to our sides, "Oh hey guys what are you talking about." Adam asks abruptly looking nervous. Immediately I become suspicious at their actions, and look toward Killian to find him already looking at me. I raise an eyebrow as he clears his throat awkwardly looking back at the brunette bombshell and I smile slightly at his obvious embarrasment.
"Oh I was just introducing myself." She responds.
She looks at Adam weirdly and gives a smile to Killian before she turns to me, "My name's Olivia by the way." She smiles warmly going to Killian's side and holding his hand. He gives her a small smile and scratches the back of his neck whilst he avoids eye contact with me. I don't know what my face must have looked like but it probably looked dangerous as Adam came to my side putting a warning hand on my shoulder. He leans down to my ear, "Everest don't do something you'll regret." He whispers as I try to reign in my wolf.
I immediately give him a sharp glare making him grimace but keep a firm grasp. I grab Adams hand in a bone breaking grip pulling it off my shoulder as I hear him withdraw a slight whimper.
"My name is Everest." I grit out as I reach my hand for a hand shake. She eagerly grabs my hand giving me a strong shake I was not expecting come out of her tiny frame. She gives me a smile as she snuggles into Killian's side. "Its nice to meet you." She says but her eyes seemed like they conveyed the opposite, as I give her a forced smile and glare at Adam and Killian.
"Likewise. If you'll excuse me I'm gonna go for a run." I quickly excuse myself and exit the dining room without another word feeling everyone's prying eyes following my movements and head outside itching to let my wolf out.
