E L L AThe week went by very quick, and soon I was sitting in a salon chair on Saturday morning. Bryana had made me a hair appointment at the place that she usually gets her hair done. I was way overdue for a hair cut, and I also needed to get my hair dyed back to it's original blonde color.
Bryana was chatting with the woman who would be doing my hair. They must be pretty good friends considering they were talking about one of Bryana's latest photo shoots.
"Alrighty then! I suppose we should go see about washing your hair." The woman politely said to me. I smiled and nodded, while getting out of my chair. She brought me over and had me tilt my head back onto the sink. This place looked really professional. I remember when I was in the orphanage, Miss Joplin would give us haircuts herself. They weren't necessarily bad, but the cut she usually gave me just didn't flatter me at all.
Whatever shampoo the woman was using smelled amazing. She finished quickly and led me to a styling chair where she blow dried my hair. When that was all finished, she cut my hair before dying it. She basically just cut off all of my dead ends and layered my hair. When she was finished, it was time to put the dye in.
I watched as she mixed together the purple goop in a little bowl. She applied it to my hair on top of layers of aluminum foil. I was led to a chair that had a weird thing that hovered around my head to let the dye set. She walked away leaving me by myself.
I aimlessly scrolled through twitter since I had to kill some time. I heard footsteps and looked up to see Bryana walking over to me. She sat down in the chair next to me and started to twiddle her thumbs.
"So I was thinking, I have a shoot tonight and the boys are going to be at rehearsal all day. I don't want to leave you by yourself, so how about you come with me to the shoot? It won't take to terribly long, and I thought you would like to come along and see what I do." She said, giving me a bright smile. I returned it, and nodded my head quickly. I've never seen a photo shoot before.
"Great! We'll finish up here and grab a bite to eat. Then we can relax at home for a couple of hours until the shoot. This is going to be so much fun!" She giggled excitedly, squeezing my arm as she got back out of her chair. She walked back over to the waiting area, while the woman from earlier came over to take me somewhere else.
She took me back to the chair where she removed all of the aluminum foil. She then led me back over to a sink to wash my hair out again. The process took longer this time, but before I knew it she was blow drying my platinum blonde hair. I smiled as I looked at the final product. She sprayed it with something before removing the apron from around me.
We walked out to where Bryana was sitting. She looked up and smiled one of the widest smiles I had ever seen.
"You look gorgeous! I'll go pay really quick, you can just wait here a second." She said as she followed the other woman to the front desk. I looked at my reflection in the mirror a few times will twirling the hair around my fingers. Bryana was back soon and we left the salon.
We went to a sushi place down the street that Bryana apparently really liked. Upon arriving, paparazzi were already waiting for us at the door. Questions were thrown our way as Bryana led me through the small crowd of fans that had gathered. We walked in and stood in line to order.
"I assume you want the spicy tuna rolls that you always get when we have sushi?" She giggled looking at me. A smile found it's way on my face as I nodded excitedly. That was my favorite sushi of all time, and it made me feel kind of happy that she had remembered.
When it was time for us to order, I ended up getting the spicy tuna rolls (as promised), a Pepsi, and a little cup of red bean ice cream. We sat outside because it was so nice out. Each of our sushi trays cam with a little side of wasabi and ginger. I gave Bryana the ginger because I didn't really like it. The wasabi was actually pretty good though.
Bryana talked all about how her photo shoots usually go. She told me about how long hair and makeup took and trying on all of the outfits. She said I would get to meet all of her friends and her team. I was really excited about it.
"So how has school been going? Ashton told me there was a boy who you were out with the other day." She said, giving me a sly smile. I blushed and looked down at my phone quickly. I pulled up my talking app and started to type a response into it.
"His name is Caleb. He's just a friend. Plus I don't think he likes me like that." The voice spoke from my phone. Bryana gasped with a grin spreading on her face.
"But you like him? Oh my gosh! Ella has a crush!" She teased, drawing out the word 'crush'. I shook my head and looked down again, even though I couldn't deny the wide smile growing on my face.
"So what were you two doing out anyways?" She asked curiously. I began typing into my phone again.
"He wanted to fill out an application for a job at this pizza place a few minutes away from our neighborhood. Actually, he convinced me to apply as well. Speaking of which, they e-mailed me yesterday. I got the job." The voice spoke again.
"Really? That's awesome! What's the name of the place, and what are your hours?" She asked.
"The name of the pizza place is 'A Slice Of Heaven'. I'll be working Wednesday's and Friday's from 5 to 9 pm with Caleb." I typed out while the phone played my words.
"Very cool! I'm so excited for you." She smiled as we continued to eat the sushi. I had never tried red bean ice cream before, but it was one of my side choices for my meal. It was actually pretty good. The meal in itself was refreshing and didn't weigh me down, even though it filled me up.
We cleaned up our spot, making sure to go back up to the counter and pay. We left with delicious food in our stomachs and excited mind sets for the night to come.
