December 1st: The Holidays
It's been month's since Portugal's victory in Russia. Ever since then I've been living the quiet life with Sergio and the little family he's built. It's been a different experience all together, but more importantly I'm relaxed and satisfied.
But as you've probably guessed it, "something" is always happening...
Right now, it's Christmas season, the happiest time of the of the year. Which means I'm supposed to be having wonderful time right?
WRONG.
"Half-Price Hoagies, Two for one."I unenthusiastically said to the people passing by, but not one person was interested.
I have a bachelors degree for crying out loud...this job is beneath me.
Anyway, there I stood, on the sidewalk, using myself for advertisement, while wearing a sandwich costume with a huge smiley face...
"Half-Price Hoagies, Two for one." I repeated myself.
...
"Half-Price Hoagies, Two for one."
...
...This couldn't get anymore embarrassing...
Three guys soon approached me, all of which I immediately recognized.
"Wait a minute...that can't be...Zack is that you?" Isco said as the other two, Dani and Nacho, stopped behind him.
I reached for the mouth of the costume and pulled it down to show my face.
"Surprise." I sarcastically said.
All three of them nearly started laughing.
"Laugh and I will squeal!" I said, threatening to expose their identities to the crowds of people passing by.
"Ok! Ok!" Isco said as him and the guys calmed down a bit.
"But what're you doing here?...Wearing that..." He continued, trying not to laugh.
"It's called "a job"." I answered his question.
"But did it have to be this ridiculous?" He said with a slight chuckle.
"I know what you mean...As much as I hate it, the costume helps to hide my face a bit." I said.
"...Something tells me this has to do with your over protective brother, am I right? Nacho asked.
"Yes! Sergio loathes the idea of me having a job. "As long as you're in Madrid, you don't need to work, I can take tare of you." " I complained, repeating and imitating what Sergio said to me.
"But why have a job? He can take care of you. You really don't need one anymore." Dani said, being truthfully honest.
"You sound just like him..." I grimaced.
"Unless..." Isco started thinking.
"...This isn't about having your own money...You're trying to get a gift for Sergio aren't you?" Nacho guessed, completing Isco's sentence.
"Yes!...Was it that obvious?" I asked him.
"Well, why else would you be embarrassing yourself like this?" He asked me back.
"Touché." I laughed a bit and replied.
"But it's not just for Sergio, its for everyone. It's my first Christmas with you guys so its kinda special." I explained.
