2- A Big Mistake!

"I'm so....tired....of running..." Blake wheezed, slowing down to a walk. Her legs wobbled. She wasn't used to running all the way across the trails at Cross Academy. Since her house was in the back of it all, it was a long ways to the day class building. She entered through the back door, and stretched. It was going to be a long day. But maybe, it'd be a good one too.

Blake laughed, skipping down the halls. Yeah! She thought. Maybe this day's gonna rock! She grabs the door handle of her first classroom, swinging it open. A loud, embarrassing creek escaped from the door. It was old, after all. The whole class turned their heads to stare at her, including the teacher. 

"Miss...Miss!" The teacher looked down at his clipboard, finding her name. "Miss Cross! You are exactly.." He checks his watch, running a hand through his white beard. "Fifteen minutes and twenty seconds late! Sit down!"

"But-"

"SIT! And don't you ever be late again, you hear me?! Or I'll be talking to Kaien himself!"

Blake rolls her eyes, plopping down in the far back of the classroom. She was all alone. Great. First day = bad. 

Blake crossed her legs and set her head down on the desk. She hadn't fully closed the door apparently because when she looked at it again it was halfway open. 

Footsteps. A figure was coming into view. A man with a white uniform and a blank expression on his face strode through the hall. His hair was a deep dark-brown and his eyes were...red! Wow. That was so rare... Blake was stunned when he was gone. She was a bit spooked, but quickly shrugged it off. Contacts. Had to be.

After twenty minutes of pure lecture, the man strolled back into view. Blake's face heated as she watched him. Wait. He suddenly stopped, turning back and glaring at her like she had done him wrong. What?! She blinked, their eyes locked. The male scoffed, briskly walking away again.

What was that for?! Oh, she was going to have a talk with him! But...what had she done wrong?

One thing was for sure: today was a big mistake.
